    • Feel: putter, wedges, and full shots

    • Flight: launch, trajectory, and wind performance

    • Spin: short game control and stopping power

    • Distance & Consistency: off the tee and through the bag

    A few tips when posting:

    • Share your handicap or general skill level for context

    • Be specific (comparisons to your current gamer are helpful)

You are among the first golfers in the world to test this new golf ball, and your feedback is greatly appreciated in advance. We can’t wait to hear what you think!

I’m 73 16 handicap usually play Vice Pro
    The ball preformed well
Off the tee ball flight was lower and a little longer.
Less curve when hit on center
Less forgiving when hit off center.
From the fairway had more distance and better wind penetration. Both center and off center hits were similar to the Vice Ball
Held greens a little better from the fairways
Chipping performance was better flew truer and held the greens better.
Putts were true held the line a little better than Vice.
    Over all a better ball
Will the price point be higher than Vice
  2. I am a 7.3 index and received the white box about a month ago. I would say this is a ball I did not prefer and will not be my gamer. The feel was decent. Not hard or too soft. Putting with it was decent, but pitching and chipping were very spinny so there was no run out. Off the tee and with full iron shots the ball had way too much spin. In the wind this ball was a nightmare. The durability was also lacking. The ball was marred after playing just one hole from hitting an iron from the fairway. Overall, this ball is not for me, but I do appreciate the opportunity to test it and hope I get more chances in the future to provide feedback.
  3. I am a 6 index. Currently play ProV1x Left Dash. SM9 Wedges, T150 irons, GT Woods. if I had to guess the Proto ball I received was Prov1 double left dot. I played with these balls on the course and my experience was stopping power and feel around the green was similar to ProV1x but I felt like the ball did travel further with lower and straighter trajectory off the tee. I experienced a lower more penetrating flight with less spin than I get with the ProV1x left dash. When I was swinging well I think I legitimately got 10-15 yards more carry with this ball and it had less spin off the driver.
  4. 9 handicap, currently play the pro V1

Feel: Putting is the worst part of my game so I really couldn't tell much difference , Wedges: this ball spins for sure, i was constantly coming up short because of the ball just spinning more, Full Shots: as I was playing i noticed on long irons i was a bit more aggressive as the ball was really holding the greens.

Flight: launch, trajectory, and wind performance: I didnt' notice much difference with irons (driver was lower but distance was about the same) tough for me to say about the wind as it was 30 plus when I was playing (three days in vegas)

Spin: short game control and stopping power: best part about this ball was 100 yards in and how you could really go for the pin because the ball would really grab. I was coming up short most of the first day.

Distance & Consistency: My elevation was higher while testing this ball but I was consistently longer with every club in the bag.

One thing I noticed was the toughness of the cover, anyone that has played Paiute golf courses in Vegas understand you will get in the rocks and as windy as it was I was in the rocks a few times. The cover would not really get scuffed up and I just kept playing the same ball and it didnt seem like it effected it that bad.
  5. After testing the proto balls, I truly loved the feel around the greens. They seemed to have good spin to stop within a couple feet of the divet. They felt similar to the AVX that I normally play, similar in distance and ball flight. Overall I enjoyed the protos. Thanks Team Titleist for the opportunity to test them.

  6. Appreciated the opportunity to get the prototype golf balls. Off the tee the ball was straight and long, same with irons. Ball flight was lower compared to other balls I play, but I actually enjoyed that. Only thing I noticed was they weren’t as spinny around the greens compared to the Bridgestone ball I usually play. Overall, a great experience, thanks Titleist!
  7. I was lucky enough to be a tester myself with these. At first glance they appeared a lot like AVX, which happens to be what I will play most of the time. When I’m feeling frisky I’ll play ProVs, but the AVX is my prime choice. A couple sessions on a sim and a quick round with these, they are awfully close to the AVX line, Maybe a touch firmer(?) with woods and long irons. Most numbers came back almost identical for me. A touch more spin with irons and woods off the deck. Matching spin, launch, carry with a driver. Didn’t really get to seat durability too much, I was able to keep them in the green zones and off the hard stuff, and Somehow didn’t miss hit or blade any of them. Maybe I’ll test that next LOL. If they’re a completely new line, I would buy them if they were cheaper than AVX, but wouldn’t see the need to switch if they end up being the same cost. OR I wouldn’t be disappointed if these end up being the new or replacement to AVX.
  8. Feel like the AVX
    Seems to launch higher
    Longer than my AVX
    I like it

Nothing compares to the feel of this exceptional Titleist ball. Excellent feel in the green and sound. Just superior feel off the tee, fairway and chipping. I am a 6 handicap and would play this ball everyday! Thank you for the opportunity to test.

It is exciting to tee this ball up! Loved it. Thank you again for the opportunity!

  11. I'm a 10 handicap and typically play a Pro V1x or Bridgestone RXS.

Good feel around the greens and great feel off the putter!

Slightly higher ball flight than I'm used to, but wasn't an issue.

They look very similar to the AVX.

I was super excited to test the PROTO's out and definitely excited to hit it again.

    Hai All Titleist Fans,

I am one of the lucky ones who indeed received the magical white box.

So I am pleased to give you all my thoughts on these proto 2026.
the following performance characteristics are been tested for 10+ rounds on 3 courses on the beautiful Island of Curacao:

    Feel:
putter,: soft to medium soft from the blade
Wedges: nice solid contact and a great feel all the round
Full shots: Also nice solid contact from the blade and a smooth feel all over.

    Flight:
Launch & trajectory, of all shots was good and medium to high.
As I play everytime with a lot of wind here on the Island minimal windforce 4, the ball keeps it flight in a nice way and does not balloon as much as other brands.

    Spin:
Short game control and stopping power: Nice spin as expected from Titleist, they spin a bit less then the pro V's so my feeling it is a kind of AVX ball I played with. As our greens are less receptive as most greens around the globe, you will not get all the time the nice spin and stopping power and some days you are forced to play the bump and run shots in dry periods. But this ball preformes also great with these shots.
Distance & Consistency: off the tee and through the bag the ball preformance is solid and has a nise penetrating ball flight.

Overall a great ball with all the characteristics you need for a solid game from tee to green.
As mentoined before, I have the feeling this ball comes close to the AVX I play a lot with. So hopefully we will be informed which ball this is and which will be launced in 2026. If any of you have questions, feel free to comment !
Nice to be part of the Titleizt team so looking forward to the next testing possibility.

I was fortunate enough to have received a sleeve of these Proto balls. My regular gamer is an AVX, which I got fitted for by a Titleist rep who was fitting people at my club for balls. My current HCP Index is a 5.3 and I play 3-5 times a week. On days I don't play, I'm practicing.

If this new Proto ball is going to be the next evolution of the AVX, count me in for sure!

I first broke out these Proto balls when I was doing some short game practice. I liked how they came off the face of my wedges (Vokey SM-10s) and putter (Scotty). They felt solid but not hard coming off the face of the club. I could spin them quite well around the green, but when needed, I could also execute a nice bump and run -- again, great solid feel without feeling like a rock.

When playing with the Proto balls on the course, the feedback coming off of a full swing -- regardless of the club being used -- felt like butter when I caught one square on the face. I tend to hit a higher trajectory ball, but these Proto balls didn't seem to balloon as much after contact.

Better trajectory than my current AVX's? Not sure about that -- the trajectory was quite similar with the Proto balls -- but the ball felt soft coming off the face at contact and I didn't notice my distance being affected adversely one way or the other.

The biggest thing I like about hitting AVX's in general, is they don't come off my longer clubs as spinny as other balls, so an errant shot won't turn into penalty strokes. I had the same experience with the Proto balls -- maybe I was just having a good swing day, but I didn't find myself in jail when hitting an errant shot. Recovery shots seemed pretty manageable with the Proto balls.

Ben Hogan said something to the effect of, "A well-struck ball will not be affected by the wind". That was my experience with the Proto balls. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to make drastic aim changes when hitting into left-to-right or right-to-left winds. I still had to make the yardage adjustments, but I believe you would have to do that with any ball.

The Proto balls (for me) would stop on the green even when using a longer iron or fairway wood on an approach shot. Loved this aspect of the ball. They also seemed to roll out nicely -- nothing too extreme -- when hit onto the fairway.

Overall, I played a solid round (+5) without ever losing a ball or finding myself hitting from difficult places on the golf course, so I would call that an excellent experience with the Proto balls.
  14. Received proto balls and played first round with them last week. Normally play vice pro plus(have an hook up there so can’t say no) and these performed better than expected. Distance with driver was further, consistent distance with irons and more green side spin that I am used to (which was nice). Putter feel was perfect.

    When can we buy these????

I thought they were very good. Consistent for sure. Not real long but I don’t have a ton of swing speed, maybe around 90. I didn’t really get any extra loft, which was nice in the New Mexico wind. Also, not buttery soft so putts felt a bit clunky. Nice around the greens. Spin but not too much. They held the line on chips and on pitches that were 50yds and in.

I enjoyed testing these balls. I would be glad to test more balls anytime you need a guinea pig - hah
Also, can I be advised about the test results?
    Thank you,

The first thing I noticed is they do look most like the AVX dimple pattern. I compared them to the latest off shelf AVX I had in a new sleeve. I also compared the look of them against the pro v 1's I bought to try. The second thing I noticed was that the cover seemed softer than the current AVX I had in the bag. I had the privilege of hitting them on a GC Quad while I was testing a new wedge, spin rates, trajectory, and yardage were very similar on the monitor to the AVX. Compared to the prov 1s I bought to try which did spin more and seemed to fly higher. What I noticed on the course is that the prototype ball held greens better than AVX I'm playing... It seemed like it skipped less and grabbed more, if that makes sense. The cover on the proto ball seemed to scar like you would nick your self with a multi blade razor. As to the current AVX would leave scuffs on the ball and piece's of the ball in the grooves. Off the driver the prototype seemed softer and carried the same distance as the current AVX It also seemed softer off the putter. All in all I would play this ball if it were an option. And appreciate the opportunity to have tested them. Thanks Titelst.

Very similar to the Titleist AVX, however, I found them to be softer around the greens with less spin overall. I prefer the Titleist AVX for my game, but this is definitely a high-quality golf ball and very responsive in the short game.
  20. Current handicap index is 10.0. My normal ball is the Pro V 1. The protos seems softer on all shots especially approaches 160-100yards. They definitely sound different on putts also. I normally hit a high trajectory flight these seem a little shorter and less spinney.
