  1. I would stick with Pro V 1 over the prototype.
  2. I was one of the lucky recipients, I enjoyed hitting them, they felt soft off the face on full swing shots off the tee. Spun well off my wedges. Only used them for one round so far, but overall I have zero complaints. I’m probably not quite good enough to give them the feedback that would really help, generally I play the Pro V1, occasionally switch to the tour soft. I still think I prefer the ProV1 but enjoyed this proto ball.
  3. Thank you for great opportunity to use white box package, Enjoyed with the PROTO type balls. It drives me more long distance.

    Hai All Titleist Fans,

I am one of the lucky ones who indeed received the magical white box.

So I am pleased to give you all my thoughts on these proto 2026.
the following performance characteristics are been tested for 10+ rounds on 3 courses on the beautiful Island of Curacao:

    Feel:
putter,: soft to medium soft from the blade
Wedges: nice solid contact and a great feel all the round
Full shots: Also nice solid contact from the blade and a smooth feel all over.

    Flight:
Launch & trajectory, of all shots was good and medium to high.
As I play everytime with a lot of wind here on the Island minimal windforce 4, the ball keeps it flight in a nice way and does not balloon as much as other brands.

    Spin:
Short game control and stopping power: Nice spin as expected from Titleist, they spin a bit less then the pro V's so my feeling it is a kind of AVX ball I played with. As our greens are less receptive as most greens around the globe, you will not get all the time the nice spin and stopping power and some days you are forced to play the bump and run shots in dry periods. But this ball preformes also great with these shots.
Distance & Consistency: off the tee and through the bag the ball preformance is solid and has a nice penetrating ball flight.

Overall a great ball with all the characteristics you need for a solid game from tee to green.
As mentoined before, I have the feeling this ball comes close to the AVX I play a lot with. So hopefully we will be informed which ball this is and which will be launced in 2026. If any of you have questions, feel free to comment !
Nice to be part of the Titleist team so looking forward to the next testing possibility.

  5. Grateful to have been selected for this test. Assuming these are AVX proto's, I found the proto to have slightly higher flight and slightly improved stopping/spin reaction on the green.

  6. I received 6 of the "Proto" balls for this year and have been testing over the past couple weeks. I've definitely noticed an increase in distance off the tee of approximately 10 yards and a lower ball flight. I typically play either Titleist Tour Soft or Pro V1. With that being said, I didn't feel the same cover softness that I am used to with those balls while testing the prototypes. I typically see more spin than what I was getting with the "Proto". As far as feel around the green, I didn't notice much of a difference. Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to try this new product! I look forward to more opportunities in the future!
  7. Used to be selected for review almost every time anew ball came out. Haven't for years now.
  8. I’m a 19-20 handicap and recently converted from cally Chrome soft to Pro v1x and received the prototype. I too was getting more distance on all my shots, 5-10 yards on D and 2-5 yards on irons. I noticed a big difference right away with spin. The prototype was much easier to spin.

The ball felt softer to the touch and I felt like I had a better feel with it on the greens vs. the chrome soft and pro v1x.

Loved the experience of trying something new and providing feedback.

I’m crying in my little corner of the world. Montana never feels the love, lol. We want some balls!
  10. I’m 69 and play at least twice a week, my handicap is 13.2. I usually play the Titleist Tour Soft ball. The prototype ball tested seemed to launch a little higher and fly a bit further, I normally hit a draw and this ball worked nicely. Around the green it feels soft and I feel it spins more on chips and pitches. It has a great soft feel putting. When this ball comes to market I would probably switch to it, I really liked playing it.
  11. I'm 70 year old with an 17.8 handicap index. I normally play the Tour Soft during the winter and Pro V1 during the rest of the year.

I received the PROTO balls a couple weeks ago and played three rounds with them. To me, they felt more like the Pro V1x than a Pro V1. May scores during this time were slightly higher than before and after playing the Prototype. Felt I did not have as much control/feel than with the current Pro V1.

I am thankful for having been selected, and am looking forward to another opportunity.
  12. My GHIN ranges from 8-9. I play primarily at altitude in Colorado. My go to ball is the Y2024 “new AVX” with green box. my Driver swing speed is between 90-95 mph. A solid Drive carries over 225 yards with the AVX. 5 iron carries 150-155 yards and the 7 iron carries about 136yards.
I played the Titleist PROTO balls last month in good Colorado weather. If this PROTO ball is the Y2026 replacement for the current “new AVX” I found it to be disappointing. By Driver yardage declined by 10 yards and the PROTO ball tested did not feel good coming off the Driver and my Fairway metals. Did not notice much difference with the putter and irons.
The PROTO balls tested have no markings letting you know which Titleist ball you’re testing. For all I know it could be the Soft or the Long Distance Titleist ball vs. my guess- Y2026 AVX. I will stick to my current AVX ball as nothing else compares.
However I would love to try the new Titleist double left dot ProV1x. Perhaps that would be a game changer for me!

  13. First tee drive duck hook into the woods. From then thru the round I found the ball to be a bit longer than my usual Titleist true feel. Also seems to fly higher off woods and irons. Straight in the wind. Wedges land soft and stop well (it was wet and rainy today). Rolled true off my putter. I'm 70 years old. Play weekly . No handicap, a bogey ish player. Thanks for choosing me. Hope this helps
  14. My handicap index is 29.3. I received the balls and played roughly 3 to 4 rounds of golf with the proto type balls.

I love how the balls feel with the putter, wedges and full shots. I feel as though the ball flight was was spot on for most shots with the occasionally mishap due to my high handicap. Spin worked on a couple shots that hit the green, made a large divot and spun toward the pin. Distance is good to normal as I have trouble flushing the ball fully with irons.

Overall, I am super happy with the balls which gave me more confidence on course. Allowing me focus more on contact as the balls launched straight for the many shots.

Thank you for the opportunity to share in the feedback and if there are any other questions, please let me know.

    Thank you Titleist!
