  1. I am interested to find out what the effect is of ajustable heads on spine allignment? all shafts have a spine and when you custom fit a driver shaft you ensure spine alignement towards the face of the shaft. when you start to ajust the shaft position, then you move the spine position facing a different direction. I went through a comprihensive fitting about a week ago, apart from the actual lofts on the D2 driver that was almost 2 degrees out, we also found that the dispertion of shots changed significantly when we started to rotate the shaft spine away from the front facing position. as long as we kept the shaft in a constant position being the numerical number but change the alphabetical number, we saw very little change in performance, when we started to move the shaft position we saw dramatic increase in draw effect even if we did not increase the so called "draw" settings. I want to know how the effect of spine alignment is countered in the ajustable drivers?

This issue has come up a number of times before on this forum. Titleist do not believe that spine alignment sometimes called "pureing" has any performance benefit.

  3. That is because it will blow the total ajustable driver consept out of the water, I have been fitting clubs for 18 years and can say  that spine alignement is one of the major factors impacting club performance. all the major Club fitters in the world do spine alignement as part of the professional fitting of any club. I do agree that some high end dirver shafts have a less prenounced spine, but none of these are standard offerings from Titleist or any of the other brands. Why has major Japanese Brands not introduced ajustable drivers to the market? for this specific reason.

I saw a topic called "iron fitting" by Rick D and found something highly unusual.  Take a look at it.

Why would someone 5'7" and a wrist to floor height of 33 1/2" be fitted 2* upright and 1/2" long?  Even another manufacturer's static chart indicates "black dot" and -.25".     I fit to Titleist standard lie and that manufacturers blue dot so that is why I found it unusual (I'm 6'1"  with a WTF height of 35.5"; my driver is 44.5" with 58.5* lie angle)

I speculated the individual must be almost standing completely vertical.

I find this argument/inquiry slightly intriguing; in part, due to golf being a game of variables.  While undergoing a "comprehensive" fitting, how can anyone ensure that all variables are consistent with each swing - that's impossible.  Therefore, there is a probability that some of the captured data from the "comprehensive" fitting is either skewed and/or slightly misleading.

    My bag contains the following:

    • 9.5* 910D3 - UST ProForce V2 - 76g - S Flex
    • 15* 910F - UST ProForce V2 - 76g - S Flex
    • 17* 910H - UST ProForce V2 - 89g - S Flex
    • 21* 910H - UST ProForce V2 - 89g - S Flex
    • 24* 910H - UST ProForce V2 - 89g - S Flex
...of which I have witnessed no inconsistencies in shot dispersion when altering the SureFit settings - well no that couldn't be attributed to mishits and/or a swing mechanics.  I was very deliberate in my assessment as I wanted to learn more about my clubs and how my shots can be altered as well as test the Titleist theory of pureing not providing any noticable benefit(s).
