  1. Sunday's round was not much to shout about till our 16th hole. I had made a couple of birdies on the back nine but was not putting very well. The hole is not difficult, and the pin was not tricky. Playing around 110 yards for us Super Seniors (will be 80 in January). A simple pitching wedge with about 3/4 velocity hoping to be accurate. And it was! One bounce and in the cup. Of course, one of my playing companions yelled "Go IN" as it was coming down because it did look promising. When I realize the ball was in the hole, I was surprised and had little reaction. All my partners were teammates for our usual match with others in our group. That shot and some good play on the last two holes propelled us in winning the back nine. Always fun to win in our competitive group of guys. It was my 5th hole in one and third at my course, River Bend YMCA Golf Club in Shelby, NC Have holed out now on 3 of the 4 par threes. Used a Titleist Tour Soft yellow and a Titleist T400 38degree PW. These irons are perfect for seniors, I believe. The wider bottom makes them much easier to strike short irons especially. Looking for the next great shot! It was our first chilly day in the South so that is why the extra clothing in the picture.
