I have a 913d3 with an extra stiff Diamana D+ White 72g. Standard length..wondering if cutting the shaft .50 to 1.00 inch would make a difference on control. I have plenty of distance not really worried about that. I was reading up and saw that the average tour driver is 44.5 inches.

A shorter shaft should give you more control, but be careful as it can change the bend profile. (stiffer).

    RRomanowicz,

If possible your best course of action would be going to a Titleist Fitter (Master Club Fitter if possible). They can determine if you are hitting the center of the face or you should shorten it for better accuracy. There is an article on GOLFWRX.com about 6 players who had fittings with Titleist and it discusses which of their shafts were shortened and why to maximize performance. Hope this helps and hittem' straight!
