I highly recommend getting the AP2 irons.  To start, I would suggest getting the AP2 from the maybe the 6 or 7 iron to the PW and keeping the AP1 in the rest.  If you find success with the AP2s, which I know you will because they are great, forgiving clubs then you can make the full transition.  A lot of players do this set composition.  Both are great clubs, but I think you'll love the workability the AP2s offer vs. the AP1s especially in your lower irons.

I tried a set of AP1's and while they felt good, I lost my ability to work the ball left to right. Dead straight shots are great if you are hitting them from the fairway, but impossible as it might sound, I sometimes find myself behind a tree!!!  Hard to imagine, isn't it?  Kidding aside, I can still bend the ball either way and I sold my AP1's to go back to my old 690.CB irons for now. I'm looking at the AP2 irons now, finding them more workable. Your best bet is to hit some, even if it's only into a net with one of those swing computers to tell you how the ball is moving.
