  1. Hi guys, I’ve been gaming the TM SpeedSoft for a while now. As a 6 handicap, I really lean into that ultra-soft feel around the greens, especially on firmer summer surfaces and damp winter lines alike. However, as I try to shave off those last few strokes to get lower, I’m debating whether I need to transition into a ball that offers a bit more structured spin on partial wedge shots. For the lower handicappers in here, did you make a conscious switch away from lower-compression balls as your game improved, or do you still prefer that softer feel off the face?

  2. I play the pro v1 but notice on soft greens I spin to much on approach shots….looking to try the prov1x left dash…more height less spin

You will see that players on all tours (PGA, DP, LPGA) all have about a 50/50 split between ProV1 and ProV1X. When you get to the point where you really can tell how a ball feels and performs, it’s time to do a serious ball fitting. If you can’t do one with Titleist professionals, get a few sleeves of both and spend time comparing all shots starting on the green and working back to the driver. There probably will be things you like about both but there should be one that YOU prefer and best fits YOUR game. Best wishes as you dial it in.

Agree with Dale. Golf is a game about feel. When you find a ball that feels great, it will perform to meet your expectations. Was fitted many years ago and have stayed with my Prov1.

I will add that over the release of the last several generations of ProV1/ProV1x, the feel and flight characteristics have changed so I still like to test both at each generational update to see if a switch is necessary or preferred. With changes in my irons and playing conditions in AZ versus SoCal, I might be going back from ProV1x to ProV1 for the 2027 versions.

Softer compression balls in general spin less than tour quality balls. As well as give up some distance. From users here you can expect recommendations to start with any ball that starts with Pro-V….
Titleist has done a remarkable job with the ionomer cover Tour Soft. It performs close to a Pro-V1 other than losing spin around greens.
You can check MySpy Golf to see how the balls compare. As recommended by others, find a Titleist ball fitter. Secondarily try multiple balls. Few of us are average so average results from a robotic arm may not find your best option
