  1. I would love to see Titleist create a so called “ProV1 Senior” golf ball that is designed for players like myself (64yrs) that need a little softer ball that plays like the ProV1. The Tour Soft is close but doesn’t have the green side spin or feel.. Thoughts ???

Studies by independent sources and by Titleist confirm that there is no correlation between age, gender, and ball type. Balls like the ProV1x actually spins more at slower swing speeds therefore are often recommended in ball fittings for most seniors with slower swing speeds. If you look at tour players on the PGA, LPGA, and Champions Tour, you will find almost an equal balance of ProV1 and ProV1x being used.

    As Dale said…
Lower compression balls, by independent sites like MyGolfSpy,, don’t perform as well. Titleist’s Pro-V brand is gold. Pros aren’t asking for a softer ball. No ball that does’t perform as well will never get the Pro-V name. Thea’s why the AVX is not labeled a Pro-V. Have you tried that? There was the Tour Speed but it didn’t sell well.
I’m 76 and use the X and not ready to move to executive courses and use the TrueFeel, yet!
  4. 72, and have gone through several Titleist ball fittings, and was fit for the X every time. That being said, I have been playing the V1 lately, and I don’t feel like I have lost any performance, and it feels better.

There is no such thing as a senior golf ball. 70 years old, and I've tried them all. Ball of choice is the ProV1x and sometimes the left dash. Age and clubhead speed has nothing to do with it.
