  1. Good morning Team Titleist,

I'm hoping someone might point me in the right direction. I recently purchased a TSR2 - 21' degree fairway wood with a length of 41.5". I'd like to upgrade the shaft with a Fujikura Ventus Red 7 shaft which is available at 46" inches raw. Can someone help me understand either the Titleist or Fujikura process, best practices to achieve this before I take it to have the work done? That's a pretty big gap from the raw 46" shaft, and wondering best practices for tip / butt cutting to ensure I don't totally screw up the factory / optimal swing weight.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Fujikura has the general tipping information on their website under Education. If you haven't done it before I recommend having a club builder do it. If you are a do-it-youselfer, it's a pretty simple operation with the right equipment. Once you determine what you tip it at, the adaptor gets installed before cutting the butt end to length. You can just match it to the length of the original shaft if that is what you want. Just allow 1/8 to 1/4 inch for the grip end.

Hi John! Ventus shafts purchased from dealers such as GolfWorks.com or ShaftConnect.com are going to be sold as "Install Only" meaning they will tip the shaft and install the adapter as part of the purchase price. They will also cut to length and install a grip for you at a nominal additional charge, which means you get a box with everything ready to click onto your wood and head right to the course.

21 degree fairway is a 7 wood and at 41.5" playing length you would tip that shaft 1" and cut the butt to the required length once it is installed in the club. The 46" length is the raw length for most Driver/Fairwood shafts although are some exceptions so I wouldn't be concerned about the 46" raw length.
