A Three Generation Pro V1 Story

We received this letter in the mail (yes, the mail) so we thought we'd post it here - such a great testimonial:

Dear Titleist:

As the Grandfather of a 13 year old Junior golfer, I felt the need to share with Titleist a wonderful happening that occurred this past weekend when my Grandson, Ryan, my son, Greg and I were playing a round of golf at the Hunt Valley Golf Club in Phoenix, MD where we have our family membership.

For the past two years, Ryan has made it clear that his golf ball of choice is the Titleist Pro V1 and that he will not play with any other.  His gift request for birthdays and other holidays is always Pro V1 golf balls.

This past Saturday, we were playing the Par 5 seventh hold and I (a.k.a. Poppy) hit my drive in the right rough.  Ryan came over to help me look for my ball.  While searching, I found another ball - a Pro V1,  I wanted to give it to Ryan, but he said "Poppy, you need to lay with it because it's the best!".  So I replaced my ball in the rough with the found Pro V1 and played my second shot.  It was one of my best and Ryan was jumping for joy saying "Great Shot!  Great Shot!  See Poppy - I told you it's the Pro V1!!!  It's the Pro V1!!!"  My next shot on to the green was equally good and Ryan's enthusiasm was just as passionate.  He and I made pars which he does many more times than I.  He has definitely made me a Pro V1 believer and I will request a dozen for Father's Day next month.

This summer, Ryan will play on the Middle Atlantic PGA Junior Tour as well as the Junior Tour of Maryland and will also give golf lessons to younger boys and girls at a golf camp in Rebobath Beach, Delaware for the second time.  Ryan's teacher and coach is the Head Professional at Hunt Valley Golf Club, Mr. John Albert.  Ryan aspires to be a professional golfer and works hard at the game in the hopes of achieving the goals he has set for himself and his future in golf.

In watching the Titleist marketing presentations on television, I have noticed that junior golfers are not showcased in television or print media.  Understandably, the focus seems to be with the professionals and more recently some adult amateurs.  In sharing our family golf story, I hope I have given you some thought to involving junior golfers in your future marketing endeavors since they are the future in the game of golf.

Sincerely,

Wally R. Bunch
