I have always been told by my coaches, Joe Bosco and Stan Utley, to visualize the shot.
I was playing just fair for the first 7 holes in the first round of a 2-day tournament. When I walked up to 8, I was telling myself "I need to turn it around" As I stood on the tee box, I interestingly said to myself, "I am going to make a hole in one" I visualized the ball taking a bounce and dropping into the hole.
So it was not as I "quite" pictured it, as it hit the flag stick and dropped in.
It was truly an amazing feeling... and of course the rest of the round seemed very relaxed.
