Woke up that morning and I was reading the paper and as usual loking at honor scores in the sports page. I said to my wife it's not a matter of if, it's when I will see my name in the paper with a hole in one.
I walked up to the 4th hole, a short par three, 116 yards. I grabbed my wedge as usual and we waited for the mower to finish the fringe he was cutting. One of my partners hit first to withen six feet of the pin. As I hit the shot it headed straight for the pin, hit four inches to the left of the hole and spun straight into the botttom of the cup. The greenskeeper started jumping up shouting "it's in the hole!". A great moment.
Every day as I leave the house to play golf my wife says "get a hole in one". Well, today was the day.
