First Hole-In-One . . . Thanks Rick!

On Wednesday afternoon September 2nd, I made my first hole in one. I did it on the 18th hole at Tuscarora Golf Club in Syracuse, New York. The hole is 160 yards to the center but it’s an elevated green. The pin was blue that day and tucked in the upper left corner of the green. I used a six iron and hit it pretty well for me. The ball drew in and hit hit the right side of the green and slowly made it’s way over to the pin. Because it’s an elevated green, you couldn’t see it actually go in the hole. We thought my shot may have hit the green and rolled off to the back in the thicker grass. We looked around for a minute until my friend told me to look in the hole . . .and there it was! That shot allowed us to win a match that was tied going into the final hole. Strangely enough, and because we were playing against old high school friends, I told my partner in the cart heading to the 18th and final hole that I needed to get a birdie or hole in one to really put an exclamation point on the match and win it. My best friend Richard Roehm got me started playing just a few years ago and I LOVE the game . . .so happy that he's been patient enough with me to get me hooked on this great game.
