I had been complaining to my buddy, Phil, that I hadn't gotten a hole-in-one my whole life, despite having played several rounds over the years. I witnessed a friend getting one years ago in New Orleans and also knew that my older brother and younger sister had gotten aces before, so I was getting impatient. We were playing a short par 3 that always played tough due to greens in front and an elevated green that you can't miss long or you are in a fair amount of trouble. The hole is 118 center but it was fairly windy so I took out an 8 iron and hit a Pro-V1 that my friend, Phil, had found. I was going to go into the clubhouse before we started our round to buy a sleeve of Pro-V1s but Phil told me to wait, he thought he had one in his bag. That was the ball that I played until we reached hole 16 where I hit the ball in front of the cup and it rolled right in. Very exciting moment. And Phil couldn't believe it and had to see me take the ball out of the hole to confirm it. Sweet!!!
