Was out for a round with my husband and brother-in-law and was getting too many bogeys for my liking, then we got to the 8th hole par 3. I used my 7-iron, as usual, and bounced off the lump next to the bunker so the ball would hopefully drift left onto the green and leave me in a position to get a birdie or par. Unfortunately, the lump was blocking the view of the hole and none of us could see it, so we drove up to the green and I grabbed a few clubs, just in case the ball got stuck in the rough of the lump or bounced into the bunker. When I got there, as heard so many times before, there was no ball on the green. I checked the rough and the bunker, no ball. My brother-in-law suggested it might have rolled off the back of the green, but I knew it wasn't hit strong enough to do that. Then my husband said, maybe it was in the hole, which was not even a thought in my mind, and he went over and looked in it and said "yup, there's a ball in there". I couldn't believe it. I even checked to make sure my initials were on it, and it was mine!! What a thrill. Went right to the clubhouse on the turn and told them to start a bar tab!!!
