Same here, been losing about average 3 balls per week, but the good thing about it is that I'm still able to salvage the round with some pars and occasional birdie to break 100(?).

I'm glad they changed the rule to last point out of bounds/stroke and distance. I occasionally lose some in deep rough even though yellow.

Still playing Titleist even though I lose some, I can trust the ball, just not my swing. Best one this week was pulling and undercutting off the tee straight into the driving range. Perfect 9 iron shot with a driver.

2026 will be a great year! I can feel good adventures....

I never lose balls but somehow I seem to be constantly be replenishing my ball stock...hahaha.. I did lose a few at Pinehurst also but I'm gonna blame the caddy for not following it into the bushes ... besides they were ProV's from some place called "And Valley" ...

Oh fall golf. Losing ball in fairway sucks. I save a few scuffy ProV's to lose then.

I usually play my home course, and the funny thing is I usually come home with more golf balls than I started with.

I get about 3 rounds out of a ball b4 I change it out.

I have my good rounds/moments, then there are the rounds when two (or more) balls say goodbye - in the water, the woods, etc. Overall, I'd say it's around one to two dozen a year. I added one of two water balls to that total today (retrieved one, not the other).

Well Stephen, you have seen me play and know I don’t hit them far enough to ever lose sight of them, unless I play the occasional forced carry over water. We are at Bandon this week and after 3 days, three 18 hole courses, one 19 hole par 3 course, and one 9 hole par 3 course, my lost total is one ball. That’s 82 holes so far with two more days to play.

I'm the same. Seems like one round I'll manage to make it home with all that I started with and the next I'll lose 50. My son has recently started playing and he is a bloodhound for balls in the rough. He's found almost 500 since June. It makes me losing a few here and there tolerable especially when he brings me a bunch when he plays. Thankful for the new rules as well but even more thankful that I get to spend some time doing what I love with my son.

One of the few benefits of getting old and losing distance is I don’t lose many balls anymore. Most rounds i finish with the ball i started with. My home course has 2 holes with lengthy approach shots over water and sometimes that will cost a ball or two. In the summer the rough gets long, thick and deep and lost balls are a more frequent occurrence. Need to be standing right on top of the ball to find it. More often than not you’re likely to find someone else’s abandoned ball while you are searching for yours. Playing unfamiliar courses will also make the body count go up. I’d say in 2025 i probably lost 3 dozen balls in a total of about 100 rounds played.

If I’m playing links course i refuse to bring the Pro V1’s but after getting properly fit for my irons the number of lost balls has dipped . I’m about 4 balls a round but only play about 8 times a year 2 young kids will slow you down

I usually lose maybe 1 per round. Always seem to do a few bad swings every round no matter how much I practice. If I didn't try to carry the pond on the one par 5 on Pinehurst #4, I wouldn't have lost a ball that entire trip. Haha

I don't ever lose balls.
They just seem to wander off on their own.

Losing the ball in the water is such a bummer but when you lose one in the woods it's not impossible to come back out with three or more!
Just watch out for poison ivy...

Except for a once a month interclub match at a local course in the Charleston, I stuck to the home course. Kind 'a went thru spurts. Would go thru weeks and would not loose a ball and then the ball monster would strike and would loose two in a day for a couple of days. WE only play on M/W/F. I think it had a little bit to do how my back was feeling that day. Still had two dozen left I ordered in 2024. Have not opened my new stock of the 2025 balls yet (seven dozen on the shelve). Pretty sad.

I dont LOOOOOOOOOOZE balls, I simply place them for some lucky golfer behind me to find!

This fall I managed to lose 8 (EIGHT!!) balls during one disastrous 18-hole round. From that day on, my group has called me "Three Sleeves" !!!

At start of year as I was properly getting back into golf I was averaging 3-4 balls lost a round but recently not been losing any and the bank balance is thankful for it

If there is a silver lining to aging, as previously mentioned, hard to hit the ball far enough to lose sight.

My one quandary is why I can find multiple balls in deep brush looking for my ball, but never my own? They also tend to be low cost 2 piece ionomer balls. I may end the day with more balls than I started, but the beneficiary is the local First Tee.

I doubt I’ve lost 3 dozen balls all year. My last deal was 2024 and I may skip 2026 as well.

Like several people have stated, i have good and bad days. Some weeks it is like I am on the lost ball roller coaster. A good round or two and then throw in the dumpster fire round.

Lost balls are part of the game. It’s like I deserve to lose it on a bad shot. But what gets me is when you lose them on the good shots!!
