For those of us headed to Streamsong for the TTI next week, here is the National Hurricane Center's first guess on the new tropical storm, as of Friday morning. Let's bring our rain gear, our flexibility, and our patience! This will be fun.

Hopefully we'll have 2 days of golf at least. I might book an extra night just in case.

Been watching it for the last 4 days praying that it would fall apart but think that's not going to happen. Hopefully it slows enough that we get all three days in. I just hope that there is minimal damage for all who are in the path.

Safe travels to all those heading there. Rain gear packed in the golf bag.

Let’s see my StaDry bag in action.

Adding extra shoes, socks, and several more gloves and towels to the bag. Golf was invented in the rain and wind, so this will definitely be old school

Yeah, my FJ rain gear is a mainstay in my golf bag living on the coast of SC. During spring and hurricane season. Latest Weather forecast shows Thunderstorms coming thru around 4pm on Wednesday. Hopefully we can get out of town before it gets that far up the coast. We live with the possibility of hurricanes every year and know they are fickle and they have a mind of their own. Hope this one will downgrade to a TS for the folks in Florida and along the Southeastern coastal cities.

As of September 24, 09:55am. The National Hurricane Center said more additional strengthening is expected over the next few days and Ian is expected to become a hurricane late Sunday afternoon or Sunday night.

On the current forecast track, the center of Tropical Storm Ian is forecast to pass southwest of Jamaica on Sunday and pass near or over the Cayman Islands Sunday night into early Monday. The system will then approach western Cuba on Monday.

The location where Ian might make landfall in Florida is still too many days out to give a firm answer. The National Hurricane Center said the track has shifted slightly westward overnight, but the overall cone is what to pay attention to as preparations are being made.

    Be safe....Hurricane Hugo surivor.

Drove back home yesterday morning, Tuesday, the 27th, to be on the safe side. Took me about ten hours to get back to Charleston, which is normally around a 7.5 hour drive. Lots of vehicles on I-4 Eastbound but moving and the rest stops were full. Guess others were heeding the warnings. Were are under flood watch here in Charleston as it comes up thru Florida. Am loading up with gasoline in case I have to use my generator. It is big enough to run my whole house, 10,500 running. I know I did the right thing for me. I did play the Red course on Monday. A very nice layout. Had some good holes and not so good holes. Have an issue with five plus hours, in that I am accustomed in playing in four even when I shoot a hundred, which I did not on this course. Play average for my handicap for the first eleven holes, which was at the four hour point. Nough said. Did I have a good time, absolutely. Good seeing ole friends and new ones. Titleist sure makes us feel at home. Kudos to those rock stars. Feel for those who had flights out of Tampa. The airlines rescheduled their flight from Wednesday to Friday on Monday, and no, there was no golf on Wednesday. The course shut down some of their functions yesterday, but not the golf scheduled.

Sorry to see that Ian has disrupted the event. I hope all that stayed are safe and dry. I assume those of you there are in the 2+ million without power. It is the one downside of an event in Hurricane prone areas this time of year.

As someone who stuck around for the entirety of the revised event. Other than a missed round on the Blue (played it on the Saturday preceding the event), the way the Titleist staff kept all the attendees engaged and in full communication, it felt like another great Team Titleist Invitational.

The Titleist crew made modifications on the fly in order to keep everyone safe and allowed everyone to make decisions for themselves that were in their best interest; some decided to leave early and others like myself, decided to stick around. I'm looking forward to what the Titleist crew will put together for next year's TTI.

I was able to get in a couple of days early and play the Blue course. It's a really cool resort. I left right after the round on the Black course, we got lucky with barely a few sprinkles toward the end of the round. I drove 10 hours back home to Atlanta. I was able to navigate back roads to make it to 75 without much traffic. Great event even though it was shorten.
  19. Scott- glad you made it home safely and great to meet you. I flew out the next morning 2 hours before the Orlando airport closed. I hope the Florida based golfers (and caddies and Streamsong crew) were all unharmed.

Pretty sure everyone left at the resort. Some of us stayed in Tampa and flights resume tomorrow. Overnight was rainy and windy but power stayed on at the hotel. Just drive to get food and some street lights still out and a lot of small tree branches and debris in the roads. Overall, Tampa was spared the brunt of the storm. Pictures from the event are on the Facebook TT group page.
  21. This was my first TT event, I tagged along with some buddies that have done 5 or 6 of these. My wife and I had a great time. It's unfortunate that the event ended early but we did get in 2 of the 3 rounds. We got in early and played 2 rounds at innisbrook before we drove over to Streamsong. Beautiful resort and well worth going to visit if you've never been there. It was great meeting everybody at the event. I'll definitely be doing this again. Wife and I weren't scheduled to fly out of Tampa until Saturday. My mother-in-law lives in the Tampa area and we were scheduled to spend a few days here already to end the trip. We didn't want to leave her here along with such a large storm heading our way. We were fortunate that the storm went south. Thoughts and prayers to everybody south of us in FL that got hammered. Hopefully everybody made it home safely.

Some folks kinda angry for me bringing Ian back from Florida with me. Or community without power for about five hours on Friday, others longer, with up to 186,000 without power on Friday. Lots of debris. Some winds up to 90mph. Life along the coast of SC. When you know one is coming, you start preparing a few days in advance. Why I left on Tuesday. You can always play golf.
