Swing speed and distance

  1. I saw this in Instagram the other day and shared with a few friends and family as I found it interesting. The top line is swing speed and shows how far the club you swing should consistently go. Actually pretty accurate from my findings. Give it a look and see if it matches up, makes you feel bad that it doesn’t add up, or challenge you to increase that speed!

Being between 100-110, it lined up with my numbers.
  3. Your right, the chart fits perfectly with speeds. It makes me want to boost my speed to actually hit it further. Speed=Distance

Saw this chart in an article in Golf magazine (online) Friday. It is interesting, but the article also pointed out that there are more factors than just swing speed which have an impact on distance.

Right on the money for my swing speed.

This is an interesting little chart. It matches up for me on some clubs but not on others. Very interesting

Let's just say, for those of us on the left side of the bell curve, ....the truth hurts.

You mean that new club will not buy me more clubhead speed ????? Seriously though, pretty close in terms of carry distance for my column.

It's a pretty good guide. I'm a bit between numbers, but being a higher handicapper, some of the inconsistency between clubs is more on me.

I've never had the opportunity to have my speed measured so this is pretty cool. I carry my 8 iron around 145-150, so I guess I'm in the 100-105 range.

This is pretty close to my yardage and swing speed. You said this came from an Instagram. Wonder where the actual data came from?

Like many others, it’s pretty accurate for me. I’d like to be faster but I get all out of sorts when I go after it so I tend to try and control it a bit more. Makes me shorter but more accurate.

Ball spin has something to do with it as well. When fitted for my current driver, my club head speed with my driver is 93 mph and my ball spin was around 2200 mph giving me a carry of about 225 yards. That has continued and at 73 I am comfortable with that and we will see how that plays out after back surgery.

Love the chart, funny that the last time I knew my swing speed the distances listed in the chart would have been really close. But my distances I am hitting right now according to the chart would indicate I have increased my swing speed throughout the bag....

Maybe I should go check it...........??

A friend sent this to me earlier this week. It seems that half of my clubs are at 90mph and the other half are at 100mph.
  20. Saw this as well and I agree it seems to match up pretty well.

Trying to come back after having not played in over six months, timing is the real issue and my swing speed is all over the charts. A real work in progress right now. Until I get this under control will not be back on the course and it could be the end of July, which is our first tournament.

Numbers are pretty much in line with me
