Now that it gets November, the season in my home club is over. How satisfied are you with your passing season, have you reached your goals? Looking forward to your season summaries

I'm mostly satisfied. I came off a year (2015) where i ended as a 26 HC and played a total of 8 rounds. As of today, with two weeks left in our posting season, I am at 18.3 and have played 19 18 hole rounds and another 20 9 hole rounds during a league.

I would have liked to play a bit more, and gotten below a 17, but overall, I feel I made great improvements in both areas, and plan to carry that into 2017
  4. It was a good season but I definitely need to work even harder on the game plus add in the TPI folks for more physical flexibility

Hi Chris, yeah, summer 2016 season was a lot of fun for me. Had the bag completed with #allTitleist, brought the handicap down by 5 strokes, won the A flight base championship, placed 2nd at our Member/Guest, shot a low round of the year at a course I've never been on prior... I just know that the maintenance to keep my game where I'm at will be tough as the cold days and holidays starts to roll in. But, we're out here in SoCal so we're lucky to have the weather year round even with a few cold mornings/days with layering.
Thanks for the opportunity to post here.

Even though it's November, we are still having great weather in StL, so the season rolls on. This has been a good year for me; partnered with a good friend of mine to win his member-guest at his club in FL in Feb, had a solid league season wining 20 out of 26 matches I played, dropped my H.I. 3 strokes during the season (although we still have two weeks remaining to post scores) and generally just had a great year playing golf and meeting new people every week at the various courses I play. I'll also be kicking off 2017 in great fashion by spending another winter in FL.

Hello Chris M, It was an up and down season for me. I did happen to win one of six tournaments our club puts on each year. Always had a good time though, and that's what it is all about. I never had a bad day on the golf course. Some days are better than others, but never a bad day! Great post.
    Play Well,
    Steve S.

Good summer but there is no end to my season, God I love Floriduh.
  9. Hi Chris,

I had a season I'll be happy to look back at.

It started with a very positive and productive lesson with a local PGA pro to fix some flaws in the swing.

Then I switched from png to Titleist 716 AP2 with a set Vokey wedges. I have been very pleased with my Pings, but I'm delighted over my Titleist. Just looking at them, makes me happy.

I lowered my handicap from 5.2 to 4.9 - not bad for 47 year old man not practising a lot :-) But one thing I practised was the puttingstroke. Now I can hit it more in the sweetspot, which makes the longer put much easier to judge.

I also had good fun playing som matchplay for my club, and especcially one match stands out. I was 3 down after 9 holes, but ends up winning by 1 with the rest of the two teams watching me winning at 18.

And as teamcaptain for my sons team I got to play a lot of courses here in Denmark with a lot of friendly people. Because that is also a big part of golf, meeting new people. And just a couple of weeks ago I went to Sweden for a round at the beautifull Vasatorp TC course.

So all in all. It has been a great season and I'm trying to still get out on the course or finding a place to practise.

Like Todd, I'm making gains. Met most of my goals for the season. Just need to eliminate those last little mistakes that turn 68 into 74!
  11. It was fun. I shaved 4 strokes of my hdc, down to a 1.6 and moved to Augusta GA, so i will keep grinding it down.
  12. I started the season with new irons, upgrading from my old passed down homemade clubs. Got 30 extra yards on iron shots with the new set. Played best golf of my life until September when I started pushing everything right. Still doing it now as the season is slowly coming to an end. Don't know what got me in the habit of doing that. Any suggestions? Considering my divot is still straight on target.

Worked this year on shortening my swing and was pretty successful. My shot pattern has straightened dramatically. Still work to do and will keep at it.

Went through some bumpy times, but handicap coming down. City of Charleston Men's City Senior Amateur coming up November 11, 12, 13. Fortunately we play about 365 days a year. We have short winter, maybe a couple of weeks of bad weather where we cannot play. Just layer up in FJ products and play on along the coast of SC. Appear to be loosing a little distance, but I guess that goes with getting older. Turned the big 70 the first of September. Just hit a longer club.
  16. 2016. Most rounds ever played in a season. Shot my career low. Lowered handicap. Spent today getting a lesson (weather got about 60) because I am not happy with some aspects of my swing. Never satisfied. :-) But these insights gained today will give me things to work on during the offseason here in NH.

    Enjoy!

It was a great season with a couple of tournament wins, but the game is always up and down. Just when you think you have everything together, it seems to slide away from you. There are always things you can work on to improve.

I had a good laugh at myself today regarding how I have been playing the past few rounds. I am out in Hawaii and somehow managed to fit in a round of golf each day for the past four days at Kapalua on Maui. I was frustrated at how poorly I have been playing out here and really ground it out on the range after my round today. I think I seemed to get it back in the groove but I guess the real test will be how I play in the morning. I started to complain to myself about how I had been playing and it occurred to me how silly that was. Here I am out playing golf, not especially well, but my goal is to enjoy myself and that it what is important. It is funny sometimes how worked up we can get about this game that we play for relaxation and enjoyment!

Hopefully the golf game will be back tomorrow but either way I will have a good time. Good shots and bad shots will come, but the good shots are the ones we remember and the ones that keep us coming back.

It's been a very good year for me coming down from 12.7 to 9.9 and breaking 80 twice in medals. Looking forward to Winter League now and seeing what Titleist goodies santa brings me. Loving the new bobble hats !!!!

Had my best year ever, most rounds I have ever had at par or better. Worked my tail off all year, working on my weaknesses. I put an artificial mat in my back yard, dug a nice hole, put in a sand base layer, and put a good mat on top of it at ground level. Spent a lot of nights out there. 2 areas I need to work on for next year, hitting my long irons more consistently, and hitting a fairway wood off the turf, those shots were hit or miss.

It also helped I got fit for my driver and wedges, 915 and the SM6, made a nice difference. Since have received my 917D3, even better. Looking forward to next year.

    Chris,

I achieved all my goals except one this year. I am still alive, I can still swing a golf club, and I still have more fun playing golf than most anybody. The only goal I did not reach this year was I did not hit my first hole-in-one yet! I'll try this again next year. Oh...one side benefit was I got to meet of lot of interesting and fun people along the way. It shouldn't be too hard for me to make up my list for next year.

    Huddersfield,

Went up the 13, earlier in the season and hovered around there for the rest of year and currently 12.6. Played reasonably well recently but not enough to get me back down to 12
