To all of those not playing a Titleist or rather a Pro V1 or Pro V1x... you are a huge disadvantage! Do not believe or fall into the trap of hype from all the other golf balls. They simply do not perform. I'm literally on the 4th Hole at Granite Links and saw a Vce Ball on the tee box, this I compared. I hit the vice better, mishit my Pro V1 and the Pro V was longer, more accurate, and straighter; on a mishit! Just because a ball is cheaper or mail order and what have you, it's simply not better. There's a reason why a Pro V is called a Pro V... P-proven R-results O-zero compromise! Don't sell your game short!

I'll agree 100%. I have tried a few others for a hole or two, couldn't imagine playing anything else full time.....Now there ARE some VERY good golf balls on the market, but I'm a Titleist guy.......Period!!......

That's why we're here CoolBreeze. Our parents may not have raised any good looking kids, but they didn't raise any fools. There's a reason Titleist is "the number one ball in golf", professional, amateur, you name it. Couldn't stay there if what they make didn't perform as the best.

Ditto....... I get asked why I play Titleist & I respond I'd rather have to blame myself than my equipment. Simple as that..

Sounds like a winner to me!!!!
  9. I have a terrible mental block on ProV. I'll hit any other tour ball just fine. Nxt tours hit them great tee up a prov and every time it's not a good result

I had in the past tried to find a better ball for someone with a swing speed (well) under 95. Hasn't happened yet. Even if there is another urethane ball the equal, too much chance I'd have to research what the replacement is next year. I can count every other year I will have an updated Pro-V to use. I am making a switch, though. After a trial of the 2017 test Pro-V1, it will be replacing the Pro-V1x in 2017.

Good timing with your post. I'm about to do my fall TrackMan session to compare with last spring. Every fall I also get a sleeve of each of the Titleist balls for my fall on course ball selection for next year. Last year I played NXT Tours all year and had good results. This year I have played the Pro V1x and I am longer off the tee this year, which results in better scores at the end of the day so unless something changes my mind I'll stick with the Pro V1x. Playing into this falls decisions is consideration for playing at a country club I just re-joined for next year. Front 9 is short and requires accuracy on narrow fairways to smaller greens; back 9 is longer with fewer trees, longer drives pay off. Last year with the NXTs I played about 160 rounds and used three dozen balls. I may have a few more rounds this year and so far I have only used 19 Pro V1x's, hitting fairways at 80% saves on balls I guess.

I am making the move from the PV1x to the PV1 as well next spring.

For the longest time, I didn't feel I was good enough to play the ProV1/V1x-I had been just playing Velocity balls. The girlfriend gave me 4 boxes of PV1xs because I had started playing seriously again and wanted me to enjoy them.

Not to the say the Velocitys are bad but I was more than pleasantly surprised by the ProV1x. I was expecting shorter distances, exaggerated flight paths and a fragile ball (essentially, I thought it would be like playing a balata). But man, I was getting great distance, any kind of flight path was no worse (but easier to shape if you wanted to), pretty durable and the one obvious benefit - the greenside spin.

Last Friday broke out some ProV1s she gave me-again thinking I wasn't good enough for those (despite doing well with the V1x) and loved them. They are a little too spinny for me when I hit the green-though that probably has also to do with new SM6 wedges with fresh grooves. There were a few times I backed up away from the pin and once, down the false front into the fairway.
