Well it finally happened, I hit my goal.  I said if I broke 80 I would get new Titleist Irons.  I got fit over the weekend and ordered my 714 AP1s today.  I am coming from cally X-20s and am ready to join the Titleist Club.  My fitter told me that I would be shooting 80 more often now that I was moving from badly fitted clubs.   Although I might have been able to handle the AP2, the AP1 just felt and flew so true to turn them down.

I am super pumped, now I have to play the waiting game.

First off, congrats on breaking 80 and hitting your goal! That's awesome.

Also, congrats on the new irons. Definitely a great way to celebrate and thanks for trusting Titleist!

Keep us posted on the new set and here's to breaking 80 more often!

    Cheers,

    Mike

    DB,

Welcome to the team.  It's always a great feeling when you hit the goals you have set for yourself.  Now that you've gone sub 80, the push is on for sub-par.  With your new Titleist clubs getting through that next goal shouldn't take to long.

Best of luck and play well!!

Thanks guys.  I was pretty stoked, especially since still performed "fairly" well after knowing the AP1/AP2s were in my reach.  Now to figure out my driver goals :)

The waiting is killing me... and it has only been 3 days.  Thanks again

Congratulations on breaking 80 and I don't think you could have selected a better way to celebrate than a new set of Titleist irons. Enjoy the new sticks and lower scores on a regular basis!

Congrats on breaking 80!! And as others have mentioned, what a great reward for doing that. I have set myself a similar goal for breaking 80, but haven't gotten there yet. I have gotten to 80, but never below 80.....YET! :)  I think too far ahead and think that I'll get there and then I just have a melt down some where.

But I will keep practicing and working at it and I will get there and hopefully be able to reward myself like you did.

Keep up the great work and let us know how the irons are when you get them.

    Cheers!

    DB,

Congrats on breaking 80 and reaching your goal.  Getting new sticks is a great way to reward yourself.  Welcome to the Titleist team.  You will find a great group of golf nuts with a whole lot of good advise for any and all of your questions.  I play the original AP1's from 2008 and really like them.  They are getting a bit nicked up so I am waiting for the new irons to become available in November/December to see how they look.  It's a great situation to be in, get a new set of great clubs or keep the great set I currently use. The rest of life should so good!  Good luck with the new clubs.  Remember, when looking for drivers and or fairways, Titleist is the only way to go.  Keep us posted.  Fairways and greens.

Wow, clubs arrived it 8 days including the cross country trip.  I continue to be amazed by Titleist as a company, custom clubs built and shipped in one day.  All the Team Titleist love as well.  I am really glad I found this site to add to my golf obsession.

So I have only gotten to hit the range 3 times since the clubs have arrived.  Weather has been awful and working longer hours.  What I have noticed is that there is a "break in" period... at least for me.  Does anyone else have a similar experience?

I was not expecting everything to fly perfectly but it is amazing how different two sets of clubs can be... I am hoping that in a couple of days everything with CLICK.
