Yesterday turned into a round I’ll never forget. We were on the 14th hole when a heavy rainstorm rolled in, and we seriously considered calling it a day. Instead, we waited for the rain to let up and decided to play through the wet conditions. Two holes later, that decision paid off in the best way possible. Standing on the 16th tee at Double Oaks, I hit a 7-iron from 152 yards to a back pin that was playing closer to 160. The ball landed, took one bounce a few inches from the hole, and disappeared into the cup for my very first ace. It’s a reminder that sometimes it’s worth sticking it out because you never know when something unforgettable is about to happen.
