It was day three of high school golf tryouts on February 12, 2020 at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta Georgia. My junior year of high school. Hole #8 of a 9 hole round in a threesome.
Playing the blue tees, 154 yards to the green, par 3. I tee off with a 6 iron, it was my best striking club at the time, pin is located at the back of a turtle back green. High and straight, best shot of my life not only since it turned into a hole in one but just the flight path of it. Ball lands and the green and rolls to the back toward the pin, we could only see half of the flag stick at the time. The two other guys I’m playing with tee off and we start walking to the green. One guy landed in a green side bunker and the other went over the green. I start walking around looking for my ball, not thinking anything about checking the cup. Guy in my group screams “it’s in the freaking hole dude” about that time the golf coach is turning the corner in the golf cart just making his rounds.
We start to go absolutely crazy as anyone would in this situation. It was a day I’ll never forget.
