On June 7 (6/7), while playing The Cradle in Pinehurst, I stepped onto the 67-yard 6th hole with my 52° Vokey wedge and a Titleist Pro V1 marked with the number 7.

I made an easy swing and watched the ball, tracking nicely, take two little hops, and then disappear into the cup. The best part? Everyone in our group saw it go in.

As if making a hole-in-one at Pinehurst wasn’t special enough, we later learned that it was the 2,713th hole-in-one recorded at The Cradle. (Thanks to Fred, part of the wonderful Pinehurst staff for sharing that piece of history.)

Being part of that unique Cradle tradition made an unforgettable moment even more memorable. Some days, the numbers just seem to line up.
