Invited to a post-work round, I showed up to find my buddy had canceled — so I decided to go it alone. The starter paired me with a mom and her 10-year-old son, and I made sure to warn them upfront: I’m very bad, don’t worry about me.
Then I proceeded to play some of the best golf of my life.
It all came together on hole 4. From the tee box, I striped an approach shot to the back left of the green — watched it land, bite, and spin back slowly… directly into the cup. First hole-in-one. Standing witness: one very gracious mother and one very impressed 10-year-old.
I did the right thing and bought the kid a Gatorade.
