The first round of the year on March 8, 2026, I recorded my first ever hole-in-one. I’ve been playing the game of golf for 36 years and have come close numerous times, but never achieved the great feat of a hole-in-one.

I was playing at Idlewild Country Club and achieved my hole-in-one on the 16th hole. It was a windy day and on this particular hole the wind was blowing left to right and into us at about 20–30 miles per hour. The hole was playing 125 yards and I chose to hit a punch 9-iron into the green using my Titleist Pro V1 golf ball with a custom number 25 printed on it. As soon as I struck the ball, it never left the flagstick. The ball landed about five feet short of the hole and rolled straight into the cup. It was incredible to watch it disappear and to celebrate the moment with the three guys I was playing with that day.

I have been playing Titleist Pro V1 golf balls for more than 20 years, and it made the moment even more special to finally record my first hole-in-one with the same ball I’ve trusted throughout most of my golfing life.
