  1. My name is CJ Addams, I am an active duty Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. I picked up golf about 2 years ago and fell in love with the sport. I just picked it back up after returning from deployment earlier this summer. We have an annual Chief Petty Officer Tournament and played on Wednesday, September 3rd at Sewells Point Golf Course. I used my trusty Titleist Tour Speed on hole number 7 (par 3 of course). I usually say my nervous system doesn't know the difference between being robbed at gunpoint and people watching me tee off, so golfing in my first ever tournament with a group of 7 other people watching this hole was something I was a bit worried about at first. Once I made contact with the ball though, I was pretty glad there were 7 witnesses. I hit it straight and with perfect contact. A friend was down near the green watching (he has golfed since he was in diapers), I bent down to pick up my short little tee and looked up expecting to see my ball coming to a stop on the green for a decent putt. I looked up just in time to watch the ball disappear, I wear glasses and don't have the best eyesight, but surely I must be mistaken. That is when I saw my friends hands go up in the air like an NFL ref and yell "It went in!". I think most of the course could hear our shouts as I ran all the way to the green. Just wanted to share the story with well, anyone that will listen. Thank you!
