I was about 173 from the pin — it was a back pin at the time. I decided to go with a 7-iron and fade it at the hole. The way the hole was made, you could see the flag, but the hole itself was slanted, so I never saw the ball drop in. The second I hit the ball, I knew it was a good shot — it faded perfectly and landed about 15 feet from the hole, tracking toward it. One of my friends who was there asked me if it went in, and like I said, I couldn’t see, but I just assumed it had rolled off the back a little. So anyway, I let the others shoot — we were four, including me. Then we went up to the hole, and I didn’t see my ball. I looked around and couldn’t find it, until my friend checked the hole and started screaming — and just like that, I had my first hole-in-one at the St-Ignace Golf Course on the par-3 15th.
