I've been playing golf for 35 years now & have managed to get down to a SF handicap. But I've never managed to hit an Ace despite coming very close. To heap on the pressure both of my sons & my brother, along with a handful of playing buddies have achieved this golfing mecca. Rewind to February 2023, I was invited to play a course that I hadn't played before (Blakes, in Essex). They have a signature 8th hole that is a mini replica of the 17th Island Green at TPC Sawgrass. On this particular cold February morning it was playing 130yds with a cold left to right breeze. I hit a PW straight down the pipe, it pitched 8-10ft beyond the pin, I then turned to leave the tee, but a shout from a playing partner that it was spinning back made me turn & watch in disbelief as the ball spun back & dropped into the hole. At last!!!!.
