Ther was a 2023 version but only released in Japan. My thought was the T300 was updated to the T350 as the alternative to the T300 and T400.

The wide sole of the T400 resembles a superGI iron. The lofts are strange even in a world of jacked lofts. I’m a slow swinger, but I enjoy the T200 far more than a previous T400 set I’ll guess the market did not support continuing the T400 series.

I would guess the market did not respond well to the T400s. The lofts were too strong and, based on my experience, they just did not fit what I was looking for. Titleist seems to have done well with the TSR1s and now the GT1s for the players with more moderate swing speeds. I hate to see them give up on this market segment in the iron offerings. I play the T350s with senior shafts but these are more a "game improvement iron" for everyone offering. I still think the T400s were a great idea but they need some modifications to meet what the potential buyers want. Still hoping Titleist takes another stab at it.

I just think the market segment was too small to justify the cost that Titleist puts into their irons. The brand will not stoop to producing a cheap product and risk their reputation just to capture a super small segment. I believe their goal was to produce a T350 that is capable of helping the high handicap player but great enough to perform in the hands of any golfer.

That's me. I swing on the slow side which means not as long. When I try and crank one I start getting inconsistent. I play the 2019 T300 and T200 in short irons. Honestly I can't tell much distance gained from those from the 2016 AP2s I use to play.

I have a set of 2022 T400's (JP Version) that I play occasionally when my T200's give me fits. Titleist incorporated the "Max Impact" Technology and they have much better feel than the 2020 T400's. They launch high and are crazy long too! Below is a link to a video.

I am not sure Titleist's plan for a future T400 release. I am excited to demo the 2025 T350's!

I am 57 years old and still play to a single digit handicap. I grew up on the blades of years gone by as the only company to make a game improvement iron was png. As a traditionalist, I would not play clubs that looked like spaceships on shafts. I did my fitting yesterday and will be placing my order for the 2025 T350 as soon as I am able. I will also be adding the GT1 driver, 21 and 24 fairway woods to my bag. Titleist has nailed it with these two lines, easy enough for the higher handicap player but appeals to the older traditionalist that needs some launch assistance.

I think there is some confusion when we assume all players with slower speeds are also high handicappers. In a Venn Diagram there would be some overlap but these can be treated as two distinct market segments. Further, I do not think either of these market segments are small. I don't recall the exact statistics but a significant number of golfers (30 percent?) swing their driver at less than 90 mph. If we define high handicap as someone with a GHIN over 20 this would probably apply to over half the recreational golfers in the U.S. as well as world-wide.

Titleist might not have a desire to penetrate these market segments for other reasons but the numbers are not inconsequential.

Recently, the TS1, TSR1 and GT1 clubs seem to have done quite well with slower swinging consumers. That is why I am perplex that Titleist does not try to offer similar characteristics in a set of irons. When the T400 came out it was explicitly offered for more moderate swing speeds to improve distance (hence the really strong lofts, among other features). I would like to see Titleist take another shot at appealing to the under 90 mph crowd in their iron offerings, and, a priori, these would not have to end up in the super game improvement category. The original marketing that I recall when the T400s came out was focused on distance and forgiveness for the moderately paced swinger. It was never self-characterized as a super-game-improvement, though it was considered a game improver (lower case). Cheers.

Was just checking the website to see if the new irons had been loaded yet and noticed that the T400s are no longer on the current list of irons being offered. They were there as recently as 2 weeks ago. I guess this means these clubs are officially retired.

Not yet well publicized yet is the T250 Launch, available in 5 to 52 irons. It is a lighter head with some weight shifting and lofts that match the CB/MB lofts. That the 5 iron is 27 degrees leads to an assumption that slower speed golfers will need hybrids and woods to complete their set.
For many at slower swing speeds, higher launching clubs are a viable alternative to the T400. If the Launch line is as effective to my game as the GT-1 series, then I will be a happy camper.

That sounds very promising. I am loyal to Titleist and do really enjoy my T350s, but they do not launch high enough or spin enough for me to get stopping power on the greens. At this point, I do not care that much about iron distance as my TSR1 hybrids and GT1 7 wood take care of that at the other end of the bag. The T400s had some good features but the strong lofts did not work for me. I was starting to explore the HL models available from png and TM but now you’ve given a reason for me to hold off until I see what comes next from Titleist. Any more information or a timeline would be greatly appreciated. I am not getting any younger. Thanks and cheers.

I see now that the T250 spec irons are available on the website. Hope they have some in the left-handed model when I go for my fitting next week.

Covered. Aside from Cameron putters, some special release Vokey wedges, and maybe a 29 degree hybrid, Titleist supplies all clubs in RH/LH, all lofts. I became a Titleist fan for that reason. Only other OEM that supports LH full line is png.

I have a fitting Saturday and am expecting fitting irons LH for T250, T250 *, and T350.

It was close, but the T350 won out over the T250. The biggest difference is I can hit the Gen 4 6 iron better than the Gen 3. My TSR-1 26 hybrid is chilling in the basement in case the 6 Iron gets sent to the time out corner. My Gen 3 set was T200 7-48 and T350 6 iron. I now have 6-48 T350.
As I am LH, the T250* (high launch) was not an option. Seems the LH version won’t be available until later this month, even for fittings.

I have now had the T250* for about 3 weeks. They live up to the billing of being high launch and great stopping power on the greens. Very pleased with the irons. I even have a five iron in the bag which is the first time in over five years that has been the case. After playing the T350s for several years i’m still getting used to the much smaller heads. Even with the much weaker lofts, I am only losing about 5 yards per club in distance, which is pretty impressive.

Returning to the original topic of this thread, I just ordered a used set of T400s which sold for an excellent price. I already had a seven iron I really like to hit on the range so I’m excited to try the rest of the set on the course. The seven iron goes amazingly straight, and of course, it is the longest 7-iron I’ve ever hit (after accounting for age related factors). I Want to see how that translates to the rest of the clubs in the set.

The T250 7 iron loft is 30.5 degrees.. Note the T400 7 iron is only 26 degrees. That is part of the distance. Better to compare loft to loft.

In the end whatever gets your ball to the hole faster is all that matters.

I have the T250* Launch Spec so my 7 iron loft is 35 degrees vs. the 26 degrees on the T400s. I find these to be two fascinating iron sets from Titleist. To my knowledge, the T400s were the first irons that Titleist targeted at moderate swing speed golfers. These were designed to be distance machines with extremely strong lofts. Since there was never any follow up releases on that line, like there were with the other T series clubs, would have to assume that these were not that popular, though I did hear that there was a modified series of 400s released in Japan. The T250* went in the other direction, targeting moderate swing speed golfers that want high launch and stopping power on the greens. In my opinion, they have succeeded beautifully.

I have ordered some new grips for the T400 set that I just got and once I get those put on I’m looking forward to trying them out on the course to see if they travel as straight as they seem to on the range. Think the added distance will be fun and whether they stop or not on the greens that will be interesting. I loved my T350s, but I could not generate enough speed to get enough launch to get the stopping power on the greens. They seem to roll out quite a bit.

Get a sleeve of the TruFeel balls and give those a try.

I was badly injured 14 years ago and didn’t play golf again until 2 years ago. My swing and speed will never be what it was and my old Titleist club's and bag were stolen while I was down. I tried TM Burners for a while but was not my thing. Last Feb I saw a set of T400 6-pw on auction on ebay starting at 95.00. I did diligent research and bid 97.00 and won them. I absolutely love these irons, they gave me my game back. But as luck would have it Titleist discontinued them. I’m looking for a 5I but so far the one iron is more than double what I paid for the whole set. I learned to play on an old set of Acuschnet tungsten irons 40 years ago and played different models over the years. But the t440’s are the kindest Titleist irons ever made.

Another option is a used 21 degree TSi or TSR (1) hybrid. A 20 degree iron at a slower swing speed is not easy to hit well. Another alternative would be a TMB 3 or 4 iron

I have enjoyed hitting the T400s on the practice range and taking a couple of clubs around with me on the course. Enjoying the T250* launch specs too much at the moment to only carry the 400s. I do struggle with the 400 six iron so if you can hit a 5 iron that is impressive. I would guess not too many sets were purchased with a 5 iron included because of the 20* loft. Hope you find one. Always pleased with my T series irons from Titleist. Had the 300s and 350s in the past, but the two sets developed for slower swing speeds (250* & 400) are special, even though each set approaches the task from opposite ends of the loft equation.

As discussed above, I do not know any plans by Titleist to bring back the T400. I have a set of 2022 JP version with graphite shafts. My swing is slowing down and UI just reshafted them with Nippon Zelos 6 steel shafts. What a difference!! They are now my gamers!
