Anytime something is changed in the specs it will change something about the measureable spec in the club - swing weight, flex, ....but the key word here is " significant" -- will it make a significant change in BALL FLIGHT! With all the details we now have to fit with and change specs golfers need to keep that in mind 0 "Will it significantly change ball flight"?

  In this case an 1/8" - nope, nada, zilch....  When we first got started with Titileist in developing their custom fitting curriculum we had their R & D team do a lot of tests for us so we could train our fitters and educate the public on what was really going on.  Here is a result of a length test they did concerning irons ---  a 1/2" difference in length of a 6 iron would affect the ball flight carry distance by 1-2 yards.  Conversely a mis-hit of 1/2" would result in a loss of carry distance by 5%.  So the playing with the correct length of shaft is much more important due to the effectiveness of an on center hit than worry about extra shaft length in the shaft.
