I am in between and S and an X based on my SS. If I want to have an S flex tipped to play like an S+, if you will, How much should I ask that the shaft be tipped from the Titleist?

From my experience, it would depend on the shaft...which one are you testing?

i was looking at a whiteboard, rombax z or rip.  something low spin.

Whiteboard is the lowest spinning shaft I know combined with an 8.5 head in in a -.75 loft position.  Pretty rare in my book to tip either of the shafts unless ballspeed is above 170mph. There may be a regional fitter with the the original whiteboard available.  Many of my players have switched to the Ahina or the Titleist Ahina.  Many players have the Titleist Ahina 72 X tipped 1" to play like the unbranded version.

Ballspeed definatley not above 170, it was 158-160 yesterday on the LM, SS was 107 to 110, high of 111. I currently play a 73x WB and like it, but I just noticed that I pick up 2 ro 3 mph in swing speed when I swing an S flex

Very nice!  Well, assuming you maintain control, I like ordering things I've tested like the stiff version.  Projecting shafts based on tipping and torque, etc...not my idea of a good fitting experience.

What have you seen as a difference in the original whitebaord and the Ahina (not the MFT)?

On paper their numbers are similar. But I bet most players say the new Ahina is more stout.
