Lowering Driver lie angle (beyond SureFit limits)

  1. Hi,

I'm considering purchasing a 910D2 Driver.  However, the lowest SureFit setting only allows to me set the lie angle at 57.75*, while my current driver is at 56*.

Any suggestions?  Some say the lie angle on the driver won't affect ball flight that much, but seems a little unsettling to buy something that doesn't fit.

Also, seems like the trend for all manufacturers is the make clubs that are more and more upright.  True?

    thanks,

    Derek

Actually they used to be more upright. And even more recent they went from .5 degrees between clubs to 1 degree between long irons. And some even are 1 degree between each iron making the long irons even flatter.

However, its not lie angle of a particular club that makes the fit. It is lie angle and length of shaft that makes the fit.

If you go thru different companies and look at the driver lie angles and the corresponding 3w you will see the driver is more upright, this seems exactly opposite of what it should be, but it works quite well. Why it works I have no idea.
