I WAS FITTED FOR A 910D3 IT WAS 45" LONG. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WANTED TO MAKE IT 46"

This might sound silly, but if you were fitted for a 45, why go with a 46? Stick with what you were dialed in to by the club fitter...

What would happen is that you would hit it in the center of the clubface less often. When you get lucky, you'd hit it about 10 yards longer. Otherwise, you'd hit it shorter and in another fairway. My 910 D3 is 44.5" and I very seldom hit more than 1/4' from the center. With my 45 inch 909, I'm about 60% ct, and 40% more than 1/4" off center. I applaud Titliest for fittling shorter driver lengths rather than going the other route and selling longer shafted drivers that most amatuers can't handle!

longer length shaft will prob result in more off center hits and 1" longer will get you maybe 1.5 yards more distance IF you can hit it on center. You got fitted for 45" why are you wanting to change?
That perception of longer length shafts is being sold to you by a lot of manufacturers - it DOES NOT WORK and Titleist has the test to prove it.

swing weight - NO FACTOR IN BALL FLIGHT
+ 1" - NO FACTOR IN BALL FLIGHT
OFF CENTER HITS - HUGE FACTOR
More detail for you guys -- in 1994 I had Titleist test different length drivers to see how much it affected ball flight. Their R & D team did the tests using an " Iron Byron" robot. The tested 42" - 43" - 44" - 45" - same loft, shaft.... Total result was 5 yards longer with the 45" vs 42". On the other hand a ball hit off-center by 1" resulted in a loss of distance of 14%... so if you added 3" to your driver shaft and IF you could hit it on center you will gain 5 yards. To be 100% honest -- this was a machine test, some players might get a bit more than the 5 yards. But some players will also hit a shorter length shaft further because they feel better with it...
So all you guys do the math -- 5 yards IF... but a 1" mis-hit results in 14% off a 200 yard drive ....
Now also, to be 100% honest this test was done in 1994. The 910 driver today is much more forgiving than the drivers in 1994 so I bet that 14% is a lot less today.... but still the thing all you guys need to know is this:LONGER LENGTH TEE SHOTS COMES FROM ON CENTER HITS NOT THE LENGTH OF THE SHAFT.This is assuming of course the launch and spin are correct.
