I would experiment with the lowest loft and heaviest shaft before you get into to stiffness.  Loft and weight will contribute the most to decreased spin. 

Get on a Trackman device and check your angle of attack.  It sounds like your hitting down on the ball thus creating a lot of backspin.  You can go as heavy and stiff and you want but if you continue to hit down on it your numbers will never decrease.  Make sure you are arriving at the ball either level or slightly on the upswing.  Good luck!

thanks for the replies guys, and chris i have been working with my pro and he said that is my problem at the moment, but even when i attack the ball at a level plane, the spin rate is still heaps. But hey, practice makes perfect :)

If you have a 110 mph club and 4500 spin I would consider the following options in this order:

#1 - your swing - if you have some fade direction to your shot.... or if you have a steep attack angle -- both will cause high spin

#2 - the head of the club -- loft, model type D3 vs D2

#3 - the shaft - Items 1 and 2 about will have much more affect.

Swing is always the biggest factor so I would find a fitter in your area that is also a good instructor and address that first before spending hundreds of dollars on some exotic shaft

The right shaft will help,equipment is a puzzle once all the pieces fit you win.I would try the Aldila RIP 70 or 80 gram xflex or the Diamana whiteboard 73 or 83 xflex.The launch angle and weight will help bring your spin rate down.Your shot dispersion will improve and your launch angle will lower.Its not the end all answer, but if a shaft that spins low and launches low and feels great along with serious dispersion patterns and distance gains is what you are seeking than try one it won"t hurt and you might love it.
