I finally got my fitting. To be honest with you if I hadn't wanted this Titleist driver for so long I don't think I would have ordered it. I am a lefty and I play a regular shaft in my driver. The club fitter did not have a D2 in a lefty 10.5, so I was hitting a D3 10.5, but I didn't find out until he started putting down my specs. He only had couple of reg. shafts for me to try, only stock ones. I know every fitter is not equipped the same way, but would have thought they would have more than the average big box store. In other words I guess I'm just a little disappointed in my first fitting. I have read about how so many people have had such a great experience I just thought I was going to have the same, wrong. I could have gone to that big box store and got the same driver.

Larry, sounds like you went to a club for your fitting process? You didn't go to one of the two Titleist Fitting Centers? I was one of those guys that had such a marvelous experience getting fitted! I spent the big bucks to get fitted out in Oceanside, CA while I was out there helping my youngest daughter take care of her newborn and 15 month old while serving our country in the Marine Corp. I feel your pain if you didn't get what you expected, because that is exactly why I went to the Tour Fitting experience! They had a hundred different shafts to try but the experience of the fitter and knowledge that he had about shafts that would enhance my results were phenominal! I'm sure that Team Titleist is interested in hearing your opinion. Going to one of the Tour Fitting Centers either in Oceanside, CA or Manchester, MA is truly worth the money and you'll have a better experience for sure! My fitting took 3 1/2 hours to complete and I probably hit several hundred balls with all the clubs. I got fitted for a D2 with a Vodoo stiff shaft @ 45". It brought down my dispersion rate from 23yds to 12yds and I added about 21yds of distance on average! Sorry you feel that way, but I wish you the best with your new driver!

    Thanks Barry,

I now realize I was a little over excited about my fitting. I have decided to order my driver with a custom shaft in it. I have had custom shaft in my drivers before and they weren't fitted for me. I think I get a little more response from them. It is close to the spec of the stock shaft I was fitted for. I feel a little bad because I let the guys know how I felt about the process, but it wasn't there fault, or the fitters. I think it's in the wording of "the getting fit" process. I think it needs to be a little more descriptive of what the process really involves for the average golfer who doesn't have the chance to go the what you and others have. Thanks again!

    Larry,

I share in your frustration concerning the lack of reg. flex shafts to try at Titleist fitting days. I attended one last Saturday and the only reg. shafts available were the stock shafts. Several stiff shafts were available to try which is not what I needed. Titleist is not the only company that shows up at demo days with mostly standard shafts available to try in reg. flex which is a shame. It seems that most companies think that if your swing speed is less than 95+ mph then you are not a serious golfer thus they provide few shaft options to try. I am 67 years old and presently carry a 5.2 index so I am very serious about my game as are several of my friends who are also single digit handicappers. I came away from the fitting day very disappointed as I expected to be ordering a new 910 driver today. I simply can't justify the expense of that driver if I can't try it with the appropriate shaft. The day wasn't a total loss however as I discovered that the 910 D3 head worked much better for me than the D2 as it certainly straightened out the hooks I was hitting with the D2. Also I was impressed with the AP1 irons. I do hope someone at Titleist will make a decision to supply fitters with a larger variety of shafts plus more information on reg. flex shafts is needed in the shaft matrix.

A big ditto to Hewitt's comments.  I had the same experience.  Titleist rep at demo day felt best driver for me was 910 D3 with Devotion 6 shaft but only had it in stiff.  He said a reg. would be best for me.  Can't justify spending the extra $$$ without the opportunity to try it.
