General question for you all...If you had someone ask you how and what wedge to purchase, what would you say? Bounce, degree, shaft, etc...

His current set is 4-PW. No wedges at all! Help please.

Nope, not going to bite. Maybe some starting points.

Based on the loft of the PW, either a set Gap wedge or a Vokey wedge 4-5 degrees from the PW. At least that one will be an F grind.

Then 4-6 degrees for a sand wedge. Another 4 degrees for a lob wedge if an experienced golfer. Usually 58-60 degree wedges require a certain amount of skill to hit.

Which grind? Far too individual to make a general suggestion. New to golfing? Then maybe an F grind sand wedge until dialed in with lessons and a fitter. If you look at the matrix, the options are overwhelming.

Based on working with Titleist reps in the area probably, for a sand wedge SM 56.10S. A very good sand wedge for the average amateur. Did not say what his set up is. Assuming his PW is a 44 degree. Would go next with a 50 then a 56. The 50 degree would depend the type of course condition that you normally play on. I have a 52.08F in my bag. I am a picker and it works for me. Asking loyalists like yourself is not a really good way to set up wedges for the bag, best go to a professional, and I am referring to a fitter. I was fitted for mine to ensure that I get the best performance, to include bounce, shaft, feel and sound. I do not carry a 60* which a lot of amateurs like to have in their bag. I am 77 years old and from old school. I like to get my ball on the ground as quickly as possible. Good question, but go see a fitter if you want it done right. You will not regret it.
