    Hi, first post here.

I have just bought a set 3 to pw ap1 710 with dg s300sl shafts.

I am a tall bugger at 6'6' currently play 1" longer R300 and really like that lenght, the r300 were simply butt extended and still do play pretty well. I hit my current Letters t9 7i a consistent 135m

I would really like 1" longer in my aps and would like a little feed back before I go ahead.

My plan is to install a 2i shaft into the 3i and work down from there, this will soften the s330sl a bit? if so that may well be pretty nice for my swing.

Will this give me 1/2" longer in each club ?

If so I would like to use high end 1/2" extension in the butt to finish them at 1" longer.

I cannot afford to buy a full set of un cut shafts so this option really apeals to me, I intend to also spine alighn the shafts during the rebuild and use new crossline midsize grips.

I feel this will give me a good soultion to my needs and play pretty sweet at a gap between a dg300 stiff and dg300 regular.

I do wonder how it will affect the swing weight?

Can't wait to get them in my bag.

1 last thing, what does the 710 mean? model / steel used?

    Thanks very much

Using an S300 backed out will soften the shaft and as long as you don't cut them they will be 1/2" longer. The swing weight will increase. For every 1/2" you gain 3 swing weights. So 1" over becomes D8 with steel shafts. I hope you are a strong fellow.

    710 is the model number.

    Good luck.

  3. I'm assuming that you didn't get fit? If not, you should have. An authorized Titleist fitter could've fit you for clubs EXACTLY how they need to be.

Hopefully, you'll get everything taken care of. I wish you the best of luck with everything.
