I was looking to get Ap2's with KBS Tours in regular flex. What would the swingweight come out to be and if I wanted to keep a D2 swingweight what would you do to return the swingweight to D2 if all other specs are standard

  2. Hi John -

The KBS will swing-weight out approximately 2 points lighter than a standard Dynamic Gold set-up.  A D2 request with all standard specs and the KBS shaft (reg.) could be accommodated, just make sure the Titleist retailer placing the order makes the specific request.  Our build team will pull the appropriate heads to meet the request.

Thanks for the response. I have a driver swingspeed of 90 mph, and I am unsure whether I should order the KBS in regular or stiff flex. I am 14 so my swingspeed is increasing, so do you think that I would be better off with regular or stiff flex? Also what would be the weight differences between the two?

    Thanks for your help

  4. John,

Even though you are younger and your power will increase over the next few years, I believe you would benefit most from a proper fitting.  It is difficult to say whether you should play stiff or regular based soley on your driver swing-speed.  The weight difference between regular and stiff is 10 grams (regular = 110g and stiff = 120g).

Thanks again for your response. I have another question to ask. Since you would need heavier heads to bring the swingweight back up to D2, would the heavier heads have an effect on the performance or feel of the irons (i.e. feel head heavy)? What does Titleist do to the heads to make them heavier? Also if KBS Tours would drop the swingweight to D0, what would be the positives/negatives of playing Ap2 s with such a light swingweight?

    Thanks for your help

When our heads come in for inspection, we have a weight tolerance of +/- 2-3 grams.  We will sort them into light, standard and heavy heads.  At 14 years old, if you have an even tempo, D0 may help you swing the club a little faster.  As Nick said earlier, we would recommend that you go to a Titleist fitter and have him/her take a look at your swing to help you make that decision.  If you need a recommendation on a fitter in your area or would like to go to either Oceanside, CA or Manchester Lane, MA to be fit, please give us a call at our dedicated Team Titleist line.  1-888-TITLEIST
