Original AP2 with Project X vs 712

    I have played and enjoyed original AP2 w Project X 5.5 since introduction....thinking of getting new 712....why have you moved away from Project X as stock? Expense or performance?  If I like those, what are your recommendations in the 712?  What is the upcharge for Project X?  How do they compare w KBS?

    We have moved to the Dynamic Gold over the Project X as a stock option just from demand, not necessarily performance.  The project X shaft is a great shaft for the right player and will continue to stay in our custom shaft offerings.  The Project X will play very similar to the KBS Tour shafts, but may launch the ball slightly lower.  To get an accurate up-charge, I would stop in any authorized Titleist retailer, as I can not give out up-charge pricing.

    On the PGA tour this year, there were more than 3 times the amount of DYG shafts played as PX so we offer that shaft as our stock shaft. PX is still offered, but as you have noted, it is an upcharge. Since we do not have any MSRP pricing for shafts, please contact your local shop and they can give you the upcharge price. On robot testing, we show that the KBS Tour and the PX have very similar launch and spin characteristics, with the PX being a slightly lower launch.
