Back in the day before "Rifle" shaft was "Precision" shaft. Both are frequency matched but the Precision Shaft was stepped like Dynamic Gold, but Precision was lighter. Which of todays shafts would have the nearest feel and playing properties to the Precision Shaft? It was a great shaft. I am reall sorry it's gone. Thanks, JB

They had to look deep in their archives to get some data for you, but this is what our head shaft guru had to say: Although my data is fairly limited on the old FM Precision stepped shaft, it looks like it was a descending weight (the shafts get lighter as they shorter) shaft like Rifle with a stiffer tip and slightly heavier. Since descending weight shafts seem to have definite feel differences from the more standard constant weight shafts like DG, subbing Rifle double hard stepped to stiffen up the tips might be similar, but we do not have 36" shafts to accomplish that. Project X has a similar bend profile in a constant weight shaft as one alternative. KBS C-Taper also has a similar bend profile in a constant weight shaft as a second alternative. The flex match up would be S+ in C-Taper to 6.5 in FM Precision.
