  1. Hello,

I am new to the Titleist Discussions and wanted to get some input from fellow Titleist users on my current Wedge Dilemma.

    Currently I have 710 AP2 Irons 4-9, with Vokey Non-Conforming Wedges 48.06 (bent to 47), 52.08 (bent to 51), 56.11 and 60.07.

My issue is that my 9 iron goes 135, however my 47 Vokey only goes about 110 yards, 115 if I'm lucky. Also my 51 Vokey goes about 105-110 yards. Ideally I would like to have a wedge that goes 120-125 and another wedge to go around 105-110.

I wanted to see what I should do in regards to a correct Pitching Wedge and Gap Wedge combo.

I was thinking of waiting and ordering a Vokey SM4 46.08, and a SM4 50.12 since I tend to dig and take bigger divots. Is it weird to have only a 3 degree difference between the 9 iron and PW?

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hi Tyler Firstly, can I ask what shafts are you using in your AP2's? and what shafts do you have in your Vokey's? Jason
  3. My apologizes, the AP2's have the standard True Temper Dynamic Gold S300, the Vokey 48 and 52 have S300's, and the 56 and 60 have S200's.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

  4. Hi Jason,

the AP2's and the 48 Vokey have the True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft, the 52, 56, 60 all have stock shafts which I believe the 52 is S300 and the 56 and 60 are S200 if I'm not mistaken.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

Hi Tyler Thanks for the reply, I think if I were you, I would go to a fitter and get those lofts checked out in the first instance. You are totally right to want your PW to bridge that gap between 135 for a 9 iron and 105-110 for your 52 degree wedge. It could be that your 47 degree wedge has lost a few degrees, it can happen and may well be playing at 49 or 50 degrees, as I said, it can happen sometimes. A Titleist fitter can measure your lofts for you and take it from there, the other option would be to buy a AP2 PW, but I think I would suggest getting those lofts on your 47 degree wedge checked out first, to be honest with you mate. Hope that helps, but please keep me posted how things go? Jason

I also play the 710 AP2 Irons and Vokey Wedges. I also hit my 9 iron 135 Yards. The only difference is I play the AP2 pitching wedge 47 degree. I hit that wedge 125 yards on the money almost every time. My vokey gap wedge is a 52.08 standard and I hit that 100-105 smooth. If I try to hit my 52 any harder than that I tend to over spin the ball, which is cool to watch but typically I end up farther away from the hole. I also tend to be a diger and I feel that the AP2 wedge just feels better and goes farther than the vokey pitching wedge. So if you want more distance from your wedge I would go with the 710 AP2 pitching wedge.
