S flex or X flex

    Hi TT,

    I am getting new clubs (see my bag if necessary) quite soon and I have some fitters say I am an X flex, and others say i am a fast S. I hit 250-310 yard drives depending on the situation. I have a 100-110 club head speed and I have a straight shot shape or with a draw. I hit my 9 iron 155 yards with 10 yard spacing between clubs.

    First Curious what Irons are you playing with now what shafts right now and what are you look to go with? From what you have said and if accurate sounds like your playing some cavity back club with a stiff shaft but the swing speeds your talking and the way you describe it sound like you are a perfect candidate for the Dynamic Gold S400 shaft. The S300 is gonna be a little softer and lighter whereas the S400 will be the same weight as the X100 but just a tad softer, Great shaft! you just need to figure out on your own or launch monitor what trajectory you want.

    the dynamic S400 will be heavier than an x100. I played S400 tipped 1 club strong for years as i wanted a strong,heavy shaft. The x100 has an extra step which keeps the ball flight down.

    Nunzio,

    My numbers are very similar to yours.  I hit the ball very high (which often gets me in deep trouble in the wind)  so I opted to play x-still shafts.  This also brought my shot dispersion much tighter.  If you can get a comfortable amount of spin and good trajectory off the x-stiff  I highly suggest it.
