preston j, I was just fitted for new irons. This is what I experienced. I was under the impression that rifle shafts hit the ball higher than true temper and therefore shorter. After an hour of fitting with my club pro it was determined that I needed a stiff shaft and that I had a choice of three steel shafts, k--, rifle or true temper s300. I was handed different shaft comos not knowing which was which. Conclusion, the kb- shaft which was a premium up grade I did not like at all, to wippy and inconsistant, rifle actually hit the ball lower of the three shafts but the ball would draw, next shot fade, I felt it was inconsistant, true temper s300 hit the ball on a good arc and the ball flight was consistantly a slight draw with excellent distance. This comment might help, however each swing is distinct. You will only know the answer to your question by trying the different shafts yourself. vincent a

    Preston,

The Dynamic Gold shafts, specifically the R300/S300/X100, will play heavier than the Project X shafts and launch the ball lower.  You will benefit from the heavier Dynamic Gold shaft if you have a higher ball flight and spin the ball too much.
