    Hi,

I have a driver swing speed 93.7 average ( best speed was 98) , and i have a 910 d2 10,5* with an aldila rip 60 regular wich launches a bit to high. So would ask what will change if i put a diamana ahina 70 stiff on my driver.

Will there be much differences ?

    Thanks for the help

you may slice it a bit if your swing speed averages 93.7. You will also lose some distance. I would suggest turning the loft down on your driver. If you have a titleist wrench you can do it your self or you can have your club pro do it.

    Happy to help.

I already have turned down the loft but the balls go still  to high.

And with the diamana white 63 stiff ? would it bee the same?

Ive had a similar problem with the D2 with super high ball flight. My swing speed is between 100-110 on most swings. I have the project X in mine, but ive tried RIP, the black and blue diamana options, and a Motre shaft. Still the same. The only success i seem to have had in combating the high ball is using the x-stiff black diamana shaft. But Im thinking it was more the head than the shafts producing the high ball flight.  Perhaps the D3 would have been a better option.

Unfortunately, i had to go back to my old 909 for the time being.

Aha! As I thought Bob, turning down the loft rarely helps the launch angle that much and often only alters the spin. A D3 may be the way to go, to lower the spin. It is defo a lower spinning head, it lowered my spin by 200-300 rpm. The diamana white would help too, Oban Devotion would help a bit, as would the Ahina 70, not the made for version, the real deal only. But defo changing to a D3 with a combination of one of those other shafts would help. Also Titleist are bringing out the Fujikura Motore 6.2 to ntheir shaft options, thats a low launching shaft too. Defo worth a look!! Jason

Went today on the trackman and I had  18 launch angle(good shot) and 12-14 on miss hits(low shots) with an project x 7c3 (6.0)

So would it bee good to make a switch to an 9,5 * D3 driver with an diamana white 63 stiff ?

    Thanks for the help

Hi Bob I think a 9.5 degree D3 would defp help, as would the Whiteboard. However, before suggesting that, What was your spin rates on Trackman on your good shots with the Project X? Can you remember mate? Jason

on good shot it was launch angle 16-27 and 4500 spin

Holy shamoly Bob, that spin rate is crazy high, and the Whiteboard 63 won't reduce itby that much, even in a D3 head. In fact the Whiteboard 63 is kinda comparable for spin with the Project X and launches bout the same too. Therefore I would be looking at defo a D3 head but with 8.5 of loft, as you can always tweek the loft a bit, and with a lower spinning shaft such as the Matrix HD6 or the Oban Devotion 6. Keep the shaft in the lighter range to retain ball speed but we gotta get that spin rate down, and the HD6 or the Devotion will help with that, combine that with the 8.5 D3 and that should bring that spin rate down somewhat. Regards Jason

Hi Bob Launch angle 16-17? Is that with the D3 or still with the D2? Jason

you would see a huge differnce in those two shafts performance.....1st gram weight 60 to 70 will lower the flight of the ball 2nd the ahina is a low launch shaft with a stif mid section of the shaft compared to the soft mid in the rip. i think that is going from one extreme to another. try the kaili 65 stiff or regular it is a stiff butt section and a softer mid section compared to the ahina. the kaili would still lower the flight and also give a little bit more gram weight. hope that helps you out
  17. Do you a RIP Alpha? Etc...

Hi Firstly, is it your launch angle that is too high?? Or is the ball going too high because of too much spin? Do you know your launch angle? Reason why I ask is because lowering the loft will often just reduce the spin, not the launch angle that much, which i agree, will lower the ball flight if spin rates are too high. So do you know your launch angle and spin rates with a driver?
