You need to buy a sleeve of both and go play them on the course see what feel is real I always take it to the course and that tells all.

It's best to test on a golf course. My numbers looked good with prov1x but on the course it was a little floaty. I switched to prov1 and results were better and it wasn't floaty.

Did you see the numbers for spin and launch? While the X is a firmer feel, at 85 mph driver head speed, typically to maximize launch angle and more backspin the X will deliver a better result.
The X is not so firm that you will compress the V better. Until the compression exceeds 100, the firmer will impart more ball speed than a softer ball, even for slow swing speeds. The only tale of any validity is a low compression ball hit by a high speed driver will distort too much to gain ball speed.
The difference won’t be night and day. If you have more confidence in pitching and putting with the V, then that’s your preference. Just know there may be a few yards lost with the V. By total numbers, Titleist fits more golfers under 95 mph in the X than any in any other swing group.

As someone who likes the feel of a softer ball I would say use whatever you like around the greens. I use the V1 mainly for that reason. I've found in the past when using the X's vs the V1's I haven't found that much of a difference for longer clubs and I just prefer the V's way more in terms of feel and sound.

If you can't devote some major practice time to this little experiment, play 2-3 rounds and use the X on the front, The V1 on the back. You'll know pretty quickly which direction you'll go. I play in Florida, near the coast, it's usually windy, the ProV1 and its mid-trajectory is a must for me. If you want those towering iron shots, the X is for you. They sure are pretty, but into the wind or downwind, it's a crap shoot. Around the greens and pitch shots, the feel is different for sure, but performance is still top notch. Good Luck!

Find the ball that you have the most consistency with and play that ball in all conditions. Consistency is the name of the game.

The new pro v1x is right for me on the more spin it has for short irons and wedges compared to pro v1 I spun it back toom uch but it best for getting one sleave or each and play with both and compare the results

I know the pro v1x has a little less spin than the pro v1. It all comes down to preference when choosing but I would experiment with both ball.

Nick, the original versions of ProV1x were lower spinning but a few generations ago, that changed. Now the ProV1x has higher spinning and higher flight with a slightly firmer feel than ProV1. I recommend everyone try both models after each new 2-year release to see what works best for them now, not rely on past performance.

Take a sleeve of both on the course on a quiet day/evening and try them both and compare - I’ve gone away from the v1x to the avx on the basis of the wind I play in and it’s worked a dream!!

I tend to game the X but every now and then i switch to Pro V1 just to see if anything has changed. Sometimes i like the Pro V on firmer greens but always like the X off the driver way more.

I play the V (Yellow). Sometimes i switch to the X, the latter compresses more in the Iron and wedges grooves (It's a feeling I get).

The X will fly a little bit higher with more spin than the V, they both release pretty much the same but the X stops more than the V.

I start with putting and chipping when selecting a ball. I prefer a softer ball for putting as I use a Scotty that doesn’t have an insert. I think the feel of the ball with your putter is often overlooked. The firmness of the ball will affect your speed control with the putter which is one of the most important skills in the game. Chipping and pitching is the same way. After this I look at performance with wedges and irons. Personally, I like to be able to flight my ball with wedges and irons, and I feel like the V gives me the best performance for flighting and 3/4 shots. I hit the ball high already so I don’t need more launch and spin. Don’t select a ball based on driving performance. Your driver should be fitted after ball selection, not the other way around. Ultimately it’s a personal feel and preference. Just be informed about the pros and cons of each ball type and where it will hurt and help your game.

I totally agree!!! I prefer the softer ball for putting and it transfers across the other clubs as well.

I've personally had higher ball flight with the ProV1X but have better greenside control with the ProV1. It's truly personal preference. Get a couple of sleeves and play what feels best. Also, I know many people who use the X duriing warmer months and switch to the ProV1 in the winter with the colder temps.

To my knowledge they will usually give you a 2 ball sleeve of the most recommended and the second recommended ball. In my opinion if it’s good around the greens and 50 yards and in the ball could already be the best for you. But the best thing to do is test each side by side on course and see which one you like better. Dosent sound like there’s a very much wrong answer to either one depending on what you’re looking for.
