I’m doing the same but waiting until after this season. This Fall I’m going to retire my srxn’s and get fit for the the Titleist irons. At that point, I’ll get another wedge fitting. My Cleveland wedges gap real well with my current irons, so I’ll get an iron and wedge fitting at the same time. Then over the winter, I’ll get a long game fitting so see where the TSR stands against my current setup.

i agree the vokey wedges are the best i’ve ever used they feel amazing and also made the same jump

I just got myself a new SM9 52 degree today to replace my aging CG12 52 degree. Look forward to trying it out.

I am currently in the process of swapping over and I have to say that the Vokeys feel better in my opinion. The head weight is different and I was nervous about that at first but I ended up loving the feel. I feel like I get better feedback and can be more precise with the Vokeys as well since I have more options for grind right off the shelf. I personally recommend doing research into shafts before you order as I decided to up the shaft to a Tour Issue S400 and it fits me perfectly and makes me more confident to swing the club at full then those Spinner shafts that the clevelands come with.

I made this switch whenever the SM4s were out and had no issues at all. Both companies make great wedges and the transition was seamless.

I made the same jump, and to me, there is no contest between the two. Vokey wins by KO.

Dale, you might have more/better info than I have, but it is my understanding that Cleveland and Vokey use 8620 carbon steel alloys (except for the couple of years when CG had true forged wedges that never took off). Maybe the heat treating for Vokeys is a bit different? I think both manufacturers mill the faces and the grooves but might be mistaken.

Used to be that Cleveland Golf, back when Roger Cleveland was doing their designs, had more bounce and finish options, but that has changed now.

Well it's "Vokey", not Volkey. Named after Bob Vokey, the best wedge designer in the business, not to mention one of the nicest and most down-to-earth guy you will ever meet. What you get in a Vokey wedge is better material, more options in finishes, the ability to customize, lots more lofts and bounce grinds available. All you have to do is look at how many tour players have a Vokey wedge in their bag even when they are under contract with other club manufacturers. You will love them. Even better if you do a wedge fitting to make sure you get the grind that best matches your swing. Enjoy!
