So after all of this time, I finally got fitted and ordered myself a TSR2 driver and 3 wood! The difference on off-centre hits was big, and since I have plenty of those I'm looking forward to the improvements!

Need to try and stay patient as I wait 2-3 weeks for the delivery but that is proving difficult!

I would echo the above comments and say go to a Titleist fitting and see the proof for yourself.

I'm always amazed at how we believe we made significant gains with the new equipment. We get all excited, but those of us who have always been properly fit know we're generally talking 5-10 yards with the woods, maybe a little trajectory change with the irons. If you see a significant difference your clubs are either 20 years old or were poorly fit, or your swing needs some work for better consistency. Technology is helping us bridge the gap between getting older and swinging slower.

Congratulations. I found the same with my T200/T350 set on course. At the beginning of the year with prior gen T300’s we kept the 818/TS hybrids. Now the 818 doesn’t gap from the T350 6 iron. It took persistence but my local premier fitter is getting the full set of LH hybrid/fairway heads. Had a little help from our local Titleist rep to make this happen. Will get fit next week.
GG opened a new store near me so I got some new grips while they were offering gift cards. While waiting for the grips, I hit the TSR-1 23 hybrid. Blew away the TS-2 20 degree on accuracy (distance & dispersion) , launch, and off center hits (I’m a natural to test that…). Needed the full set of heads to get the gapping right. Didn’t want to extrapolate that the 26 would fit, and if a hybrid or fairway would be next.

Have been playing older model hybrids, 816 and 818s. Am not getting the height that I feel I need and the accuracy is fading a bit more than usual. Went in for a fitting with my favorite Titleist account and pickup the new TSR1 23* HYBRID, which is the replacement of the five iron, in my new set of T350 irons. Took them to the range today, finally, and WOW. Yes the WOW factor. Love my old T300 irons, but these new ones are off the charts, accuracy wise. Distance and height is off the charts. Those forged irons are something. The hybrid, did not realize they could go that high and accurate. My fitter did me right and changed by shafts. Stayed with Fujikura but not speeder this time. Going in tomorrow with my golf checkbook to order the TSR1 20* hybrid and TSR1F 18*. Those things should not be legal. Said stated, my fitter did me right. =) GET FITTED. RIGHT SHAFT AND HEAD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. HAPPY.

Can't fight technology.I played the 910 D3 for years.Best driver I ever played. Switched briefly to the 913 D3,and saw a slight improvement. However, my current driver is the TSi3, and my yardage off the tee has increased significantly.

The comments in response to your questions have a common thread; get fit. The right head/shaft combo is key.

You should have all your clubs with you. Most importantly irons and your next wedge and woods. This will be useful to determine if you have a point of diminishing returns/flattening of ball speed & launch.

The primary objective measure is 5 mph of increasing ball speed from your most lofted irons to your longest iron. The fitters are prone to fit the 7 iron at a level you might not expect. It works best when you can move to the next iron head to keep the ball speed/launch angle. In my case, I have T200 for 7-P and T350 for 6 iron. It might work out to add a 5 iron T350, but I already have a hybrid for that. No sense in buying a club to only interchange with an existing hybrid.

As far as gains you will see it's all relative to the perfect fit.
Sure you will see the benefits of modern technology right away.
Make sure you see a Titleist certified fitter to maximize your gains!!!

I upgraded from the 910D2 earlier this year. Got fitted for the TSR3. I am averaging 19 more yards off the tee and hitting the fairway about 15% more. Also got a new 3 wood. Got the TRS2+. Hitting it 23 more yards on ave than my old 910F. I'm very pleased with the upgrades.

Thank you so much for your responses! This is beyond what I expected, was hoping I might get the odd bit of advice.

From what you all have said, it seems like getting a proper fitting with a Titleist fitter is essential if I want to max out the gains.

At the moment, I am living in Korea and there is a Titleist fitter in a mall near me. I'm not 100% sure on his level of English but it will be better than my Korean! I'm pretty sure we can manage with google translate but just to be prepared for any weird translations. What are the main things that the fitters are looking for in terms of response from you?

This was me earlier in the year. I still have my 910D3 in my emergency golf bag and hit it on occasion at the indoor range. I tested it side by side against a gently used TSi3 with the same shaft and loft. The numbers were mind blowing. I typically carry 240 and roll out to 270 at best with the 910D3. With the TSi3 that jumped to 250 carry and 280 total. I had never in my 10 years of playing ever seen my driver numbers so high!

The numbers were not even that drastically different. Launch was about 14 degrees, spin was about 2000-2200. But the ball speed was just somehow faster. I bought the club immediately.

You should find a tighter dispersion pattern, more distance and more forgiveness. I went from the 915 D2 to a TS2 and the improvement was great. I use a TSi3 now and that’s even better. Go to a Titleist fitting day and try a few out. You should see some nice gains.

As for me this new TSR2 is a fairway finding beast. I have always been fairly consistent off the Tee. But now I am even better rarely miss a fairway now small distance gain great feel and sound and very forgiving. Distance gain is very likely attributed to increased accuracy ball travels farther in the short grass. Overall IMHO the best driver Titleist ever made.

My TSR3 is the best driver I have ever owned. I have never had as much confidence in a driver like this one. Ball speed is awesome and the forgiveness that comes with it. I’ll probably keep this one until it cracks. I would definitely go hit them on a monitor and compare them to your 910. You will be amazed!

I had the 909D3 that I played until I was fit into the TSi3 in 2021. The gains are incredible, and the fitting was educational. I loved the face of the D3, and I knew how to hit that club... I wasn't sure if the technology gain was real or not, until I pured one off the face of the TSi3.

There truly is no similarity... the difference is astounding.

My fitter explained to me that for drivers the technology gains are sometimes rapid (2-3 years), but the overall life of a driver should be approx. 10 years. before the face starts really giving out... It's all dependent upon the usage though. Also, I don't hit more than 5 ranges balls with the driver I have now (TSi3).

There are 2 variables in the equation.
1. Over 6 releases the technology of both the head and available shafts have been improving. Forgiveness across the face has improved - especially for those of us that “try” to not wear out the sweet spot in the center of the face. Ball speed with USGA limits are hard to increase, but from 12 years ago, all else equal, 10-20 yards more should be possible.
2. If you are the original owner, probably time to get refitted to a combo to match your swing/body of today. Rarely can any of us do what we could do 12 years ago.

The good thing about doing a Titleist fitting is that they actually compare your existing driver against current options so you can actually see what improvements you can get in distance, dispersion, or both. Do the comparison and decide for yourself. That is much better than just trusting what we say happened to us.

The good news is many of your questions will be easily answered with a Titleist fitting session. There may be a charge for the session, but the cost of the session could be applied towards a club purchase (check the details when you make the appointment).

That was a great driver in it's time (2010 - 2012). You would be amazed what Titleist has done they R&D over the past 13 years with their latest technology. Going to a fitter and getting the right shaft and head combination is the key to getting what you will expect in an upgrade. This sounds like what you are seeking, but again, I would highly recommend going to see a "qualified fitter".
