SM11 Fitting today!

I had my SM11 wedge fitting today, thanks to Pacific Dunes Golf Club and Jason Butt from Titleist. My SM9 wedges were worn out! I went with the same lofts as my previous wedge set, but went with 48-10F, 54-10S & new 58-12K. The demo clubs felt great, and it was nice to be able to try some new shafts. Can't wait to they arrive later this month!!

Golf in Nelson NZ

If anyone is travelling through Nelson NZ I suggest you stop and play the Nelson Golf Club. Very reasonable rates. You definitely have to golf your ball as it’s a very links course up against the Tasman Sea. The greens are excellent pay attention to the pin placements as they can be tricky but the ball rolls beautifully if you miss your put don’t blame the greens. See Sean and Blair and they will look after you. The members are very welcoming as well.

The Tour Fitted comes in big sizes .... at least in USA. I wear a 7-5/8 and I know if comes in 7-3/4 up to 8. FWIW

Hey guys long time reader first time poster. Does anyone know of a large fitting Titleist cap seems all the ones I have are rather shallow I've had basically every model as well. Heard a rumor the Diego cap might've released in aus later this year but yer I'm very open to suggestions.

Really underrated course. I really enjoyed it was in great condition and personally I think it’s better than st Andrew's Beach a lot of fun and a hell if a challenge when the wind gets up

Travel to Nelson

Trying something different this year. We are putting down some roots for a month in Nelson NZ and looking forward to playing the Nelson Golf Course. We have travelled quite a bit in NZ playing on both the North and South Islands. Pictures of the Nelson area and golf course look amazing. Can’t wait to leave winter for green grass of the golf course.

Looking after your clubs

I’ve recently purchased a new set of T250 irons. Being an expensive purchase, I want to look after the condition as much as possible. I’m wondering, do people believe in iron covers? I’ve heard that they prevent the clubs knocking together and taking chips out of the clubs, is this true, should I have covers on my irons?

Have used iron covers since I bought my first ever set of new Titleist irons about 18 years ago. I keep my irons for 5 or 6 years and when I go to sell them to upgrade, I always get a much better price than the average set. This helps me keep my change over price down. Some people don’t like iron covers but I reckon they’ve saved me about a thousand bucks over the time. Picking up my new T150’s next week and they’ll have covers from day 1.

I purchased my first Scotty back in 2024 based on feel and trying the models that were available for LH.

Now a year and half on, I ran in to an old pro who instantly made some remarks about the putter not being the right size and possible toe flow.

Are there any places either in Qld or Vic that I can go to get properly fitted?

Do the best of both worlds - use iron covers, but take them off before every game. Protect from bag chatter in the car during transit! On course, hang your towel in between clubs, should do the job!

Hi JD,

Have used iron covers for a number of years and my T200's are wrapped in head covers.
I have discarded getting stuff from Ebay or Amazon or Proshops as eventually they wear , and got some mint one's custom made from the USA by a guy in Florida.
They are the real deal. They are pricey but look the part are not going to ever wear out.

I buy irons every 5-8 years and trust in covers to keep them living their best life. Well, I should say I used to buy them at that cadence, my 6 month old irons unfortunately have wear equal to my previous 7 year played set. But asides from the cosmetics, the silence without the clanging about is probably the top characteristic I enjoy. I picked up a smokin deal on Amazon and have 3 sets for redundancy because once you lose one it sucks having to buy another set so everything matches but then you can’t find a 1:1 replacement.

I do not worry about dings on my irons...they look better with age IMHO.

I have iron covers and though they do protect the irons, I keep loosing them. :(. I still plan on using them because it prevents all of the dings and chips on them. I am one of those people who like to keep my irons fresh looking

simple answer is yes, if you want to protect them from knocks/chips/bag chatter etc.. and to make them look their best over the time you have them. Only downside is you have to keep taking them off and on during the round and you may end up losing a few along the way, at least in my experience.
